We are looking for somewhere special to have a quiet relaxing Christmas Eve ornChristmas day dinner. It will be my DH and DD age 24. I'd love to hear your suggestions and favorites:). We'd like to still have some money left for the balance of our vacation, so we're not looking for something with moderate pricing. We'd love a nive Christmas atmosphere though if that's not asking too much;)

Since you posted on the DVC boards, how about eating in your villa? Last time we were there for Christmas Day, we didn't even go to the parks, just miniature golf and the villa.

Lucky you, to be at WDW over the holidays!
We own at VWL and think the WL lobby with tree and huge fire place is a beautiful setting. Not everyone cares for the "rustic" feel of WL, however. Check out the menu at Artist Point.

We also would love to hear options. Usually we have gone home on Xmas Eve! We'll be at BLT until Xmas Eve and then moving over to OKW for Xmas Eve and Xmas night with DS 22 and DS 26. Planning on spending Xmas Eve doing late breakfast at Kona, miniature golf in the afternoon, and then dinner in the room while opening gifts that night! No park that day! Our traditional Xmas Eve dinner is fondue and I am going to ship my electric fondue pot down for the night!

But Xmas Day we are looking for a relaxing place for dinner. I'd love to hear about Olivia's Xmas Day dinner if someone has any knowledge!

TIA!

Over our many years as dvc members we have only been there twice for Christmas. The first was in 1999, stayed over the millenium new years. We had a wonderful Christmas eve dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern. My kids were only 7&5 and we wanted something sorta traditional. What made the night so great was just as we were leaving we caught the Main street Electrical parade, Christmas theme, passing by. The park was not crowded at all and we had a great view.
Our 2nd Christmas was 4 years ago and with older kids we didn't care wether meal was traditional or not. We had a wonderful dinner at Teppan Edo in Japan. After dinner we just walked around enjoying all the Christmas decorations.
I think the meal will be special wherever you choose. There is nothing quite like spending Christmas at WDW!!

If you are looking to dine in one of the parks, then I would suggest one of Disney's Signature Dining locations, either Le Cellier Steakhouse or Monsieur Paul in Epcot's Canada and France Pavilions, respectively.

If you are looking to dine at one of the resorts, then I would suggest either Kouzzina by Cat Cora, at Disney's BoardWalk, or Artist Point, at Disney's Wilderness Lodge.

Accounting for overall theming and holiday overlay, I believe Artist Point would be the most memorable as you would be spending the holidays at a grand mountain lodge.

Last year we ate at 1900 Park Faire for Xmax eve dinner. Our kids are older (10 & 15) but I really wanted to eat at the GF and the buffet was the only place that had a menu at the GF with items that my picky family liked. I expected it to be crazy and loud & I really didn't expect the food to be that great. I was so wrong! It was a fantastic dinner and the food was great! It wasn't too loud and crazy and we had fun with the characters when they came by! I would do it again. It was also great to be in the GF that night. The atmosphere at the resort was magical!

For Xmas day we had dinner at IL Mulino. We didn't want to go into a park. We wanted a quiet, relaxed, restaurant and it was exactly that. It wasn't busy and the service there, as always, was fantastic. So was the food! It was the perfect Xmas day dinner.

we have been at disney several times on christmas (it is our favorite time). we had a great dinner at california grill on christmas eve, also once at narcoossee's and at jiko's.:thumbsup2 they were all lovely, but make your res asap.

if staying a ak you will want to stay close to jambo on christmas eve late afternoon, the characters come there for pictures with that beautiful tree, even mickey and minnie and of course santa. don't miss that one! there is also beautiful music and a photographer for personal family pictures at the tree. :goodvibes it is lovely!

the only thing i did not like about christmas at blt/contemporary is that the decorations are not pretty.;)i guess they are too contemporary for my taste.

Thanks soooo much for all your suggestions.:). I really love these boards!
We're not going todo the parks on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day. the villa is not an option cause I do not want to cook on the holiday. I'm just planning to relax and enjoy:). It's true that the resorts Re beautifully decorated, so will probably choose one of those. A few of you seem to agree on Artists Point, so we will probably look into that.

We will be at OKW, and though I love Olivia's when we can enjoy sitting outside, the restaurant is just toooo loud and chaotic inside for a relaxing holiday dinner.

If anyone else has any other suggestions please let me know....I'd love to hear from you:)

2 times we have done XMAS day lunch at Roaring Forks, and both times it ended up the full XMAS dinner (and pretty expensive by the way) even though even the night before it was posted as the usual lunch menu.

I think this is why it was available for lunch a few months out-nobody knew it was XMAS dinner.

Atmosphere was great as was the Turkey/Dressing dinner. Then both times took the boat to MK for the XMAS parade and got in no problem-but can't recommend that in case its full.

Just tried to make reservations for Christmas Eve/Christmas Day dinner at Victoria and Albert's. Only had an 8:55 p.m. seating available Christmas Eve and there is the added holiday surcharge.

We have spent Christmas Eve/Christmas Day at BWV the last 3 out of 5 years.

Artist Point is a great place for either day!

Over the past years on Christmas eve, we have always did the Candlelight package and have dined at most of the Epcot restaurants. This year we will have our only grandchild with us for his first WDW visit. I have plans to watch the Christmas parade at MK and then we have 4:45 dinnere reservations at Be our Guest. Then it is back to Wilderness Lodge for the Christmas Eve festivities (Santa etc..)

My wife always insisted that if we were going away over Christmas, she wanted a traditional Christmas dinner. The past 4 Christmas visits we have eaten at Whispering Canyon at Wilderness Lodge. They have turkey with all the trimmings and then the second meat has varied from ham to salmon. It is such a beautiful atmosphere on Christmas night. Hope you have fun!!

Last Christmas Eve we did the Candlelight Processional and had lunch at Le Cellier.

The Christmas day we went to Artist Point.

Based on the info. in this thread, we booked Artist Point for our VWL stay in December. Probably would not have thought about it otherwise. Thanks to everyone who provides such great feedback on the DIS Forum.

We'll be at AKV over Christmas, so we are trying to decide where to eat for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day too. :goodvibes It's going to be me, DH, our sons, 20 and almost 18.

For Christmas Eve, I just booked Via Napoli. I figured we could walk around
WS and meet the boys for a relaxed dinner. I was surprised that only 7:45 pm was open. 12/24 just opened for booking today!!

I need to decide quickly where I want to reserve Christmas Day. I don't think DH and I will do a park that day, so I'm going between: CG, AP or Citrico's. If anyone has any suggestions, I'm all ears. DH and I have eaten at all three and like them all, so maybe I should go with which ever is the most festive?

We go over Christmas every other year. We like the following restaurants for holiday meals:
Citricos
California Grill
Cat Cora's Restaurant

We try to avoid restaurants with fixed holiday menu because it is just too much food.
