Where will they absolutely NOT let men in with shorts?

I don't think this family ever made the trip last year did they.
No, they were scheduled on the cruise in November that was cancelled 'cause DCL had been hit hard by the Norwalk-Like Virus.

The "rules" were,, if you choose to accompany us on this very expensive trip you will do the following...
1. Dress the way we say for dinner. This does not include track pants or shorts, you may pick your own shirt, choosing from button downs, or polos and what pants you would like to wear. The pants WILL NOT be made of nylon, jean or terrycloth.
2. On formal night you WILL wear a full suit and tie with loafers, on semiformal night you may remove only the jacket.
3. Before or after or both, we will be taking pictures, if you give us a problem it will be your last cruise.
4. If you choose to not follow these rules, you will not ruin OUR trip you will eat in the kids club or the cabin and NOT be allowed to accompany us again.

LOVE YOUR RULES! Kids (& obviously spouses) have to learn to give a little, too. If they want the fun - they have to give what makes mom happy!

Re: The guy in the bathing suit:

YUCK!!! I think DCL ought to make HIM pay for everyone else's dinners ($5.00/a pop) just for nauseating everyone & being the only one in the room not following the 'rules'. They could list this in their brochures/navigators.

I haven't been on the cruise forum in almost a year, and this is the first thread I came across! I had to check the date, as I thought the threads were frozen in time!:p

My son is a very fortunate child, he goes on a wonderful cruise every year that many of his friends will never get to experience even once. Many of those children have parents that would prefer to live the big life on a weekly basis, take trips alone etc. I make sacrifices for Mike so he can enjoy this trip-however he has been told firmly from the get go that just as I sacrifice during the year he will sacrifice on the cruise. Meaning he will follow my dress rules or he simply will not go! He actually enjoyed picking out his last suit when he realized that grumbling was not going to change anything. I made it clear he had the option to stay home with Grammy in his track pants if that is what he would prefer. There is something so special about being dressed up as a family and at least for this family it is not even up for discussion!

I've been lurking a while and finally decided to post. I'm sorry but if my husband refused to do something as simple as donning a pair of dockers for 1 meal in order to make me happy then I really would wonder how much he loved me. Isn't part of love doing small things to make your spouse happy?

If you really loved him, why would you ask him to do something he obviously dislikes very much?
I guess the cruise is all about HER enjoying herself and him not doing whatever he wants.
He has agreed to the tux for two nights why not work some kind of bargain so that BOTH of them can have some fun.

So: Wearing pants= he's not having fun???

oh, wait. :o

(ummmmm.... never mind.)

:p

If he can agree to wear the Tux than wearing a pair of pants is no big deal. For some reason he just wants to be very difficult. I would go to dinner without him.

Wait a minute people!!!

She didn't ask how to get her husband to wear pants. She obviously has gotten him to wear a tux. That's good enough for her!

All she asked is where they will let him in!

Who cares if she asked the same question last year! She's excited about a magical thing. At least I assume so, LOL. I know I am about mine!

Who cares what anyone's opinion/judgement of her husband is!

I cannot believe the viewcount/post count on this thread. Barb, bottom line is it sounds like Disney will let him in anywhere.

That was really nice. :(

We all could use a little Magic is our lives!!

You've waited a long time and I know you will have a fantastic time w/your family. Go ~ enjoy the ship, food, service, shows, activities, being treated like royality for a week and let the rest of the world go by. Everything will come together!

PS ~ Great job on the weight loss! :D

You live in Fl, they live in MA, big difference.

Sorry, I just couldn't let this go. We've only been in FL for two years. We moved here from MN. Prior to MN, we lived in MA, where I grew up. Shorts in warm weather, sweatpants in cold weather.
