Well I am working hard on planning the Vermont trip!! We are 2 people short so right now only have 6 going , but I made some calls today and hopefully 2 more will go,the trip is still on but I am just trying to help out the agency by having a full trip!! Med wise it is looking GOOD!! 1 with NO meds2 who do their own so the most I will have to pass will be for 5 It seems like a really good group!! 2 I know and they only travel with us
I have bee n planning out the itinary and so far this is my plan !!
Day 1 Leave Buffalo by 6:30 a with 3 pick ups en route plus potty stops and lunch , I am hoping to be there by 3 p . If time we will do some stuff right away after checking in to The Best Westen in Bennington VT.
For sure we will check out the 3 covered Bridges , possibly The covered Bridge museum and the Bennington Battle Monument . Supper tonight is at Kevin's Pub
Day 2 , Up early and breakfast at the Hotel and then check out what we didn't get to Thursday and then head for Weston Vt for the Country Store !! This is what I am really looking forward to , check it out on line , it is neat !!I would like to eat lunch there at the restaurant , their menu looked good , with such things as Chicken pot pie . BUT they had no prices and I am always nervous about that!!

Continuing Day 2 : If time allows after Weston and lunch we will head right towards Shelburne and go to the Farm there . I have to call them to make sure they are open and the times . Carol and I decided we were NOT driving all the way to Woodstock for the farm,We are staying at the Econolodge in Shelburne . Supper tonight will be at the Vermont Pub and Brewery in Burlington.. Okay so that is 2 bars in a row


Day #3 I checked the 10 day weather forecast and it looks good for staurday right now soooo I think we will try the Etan Allen Boat tour at 10 a.m , then hit some more attractions such as the Teddy Bear Factory, chhese factory, apple/cider place and of course at least 1 chocolate place.

Not sure about supper tonight nothing really hit me with GOTTA try that!!

Day #4 Today for sure we will do the Shelburne museum and then head back to Bennington for our last night , we will sort of wing it on the way depending on time or may just get back to Bennington as early as possible and look arounf =d there some more .
Day #5 Early start as we head back to Buffalo !!!

Well I at least got my plans done well before we lleave and will be posting some Elvis pix when I get my memory card back from Laurie . Just a Teaser , no pole Dancing but Lap sitting OOOOOH Baby!!!

Spent a lot of time checking out Vermont restaurants and attractons in Vermont !! Found an interesting little place in Shelburne !!Archies grill!!The owner's family were drawn in Norman Rockwell paintings and he has a load of them on display!! Gets great reviews too!! I love finding those type of places !!! Also talked to Shelborne Farms. theguys can see a chicken parade , milking a cow and pet lots of animals , sounds like a lot of fun !!

Plans sound really good! Vermont is one of the few northeastern states I haven't spent time in and I think I would enjoy visiting all of the things on your itinerary! For someone who doesn't drink, you sure do take your groups to a lot of bars/pubs!!! Not that you would ever be a bad influence on your travel groups.........

Yes I have put a lot of planning time into it , and founf some neat restaurants and places to visit !! Have finished packing and arranged with Carol to pick me up at 5 a on Thursday and then we are OFF! I am loving my Bahamas bag it is perfect for trips !!!

Yes I am anxious to get my pix so I can post the Elvis pix !! I have been so many times that I know a lot of people who go every year , it's kinda neat!!!

There is a lot to do in Vermont Bars / pubs often have the best menus !! As for not drinking , can you honestly imagine the antics I could get up if I did

I do feel like I am living outta suitcase the last 6 weeks , this will be my 3rd trip !! Next one at this point is August 9th!!!! Of course I have been known to be talked into others Dan & Cathleen are doing one this month too !!Can't remember where , but not Disney that is Sept/Oct for them.

I had another long day, Aktion Club meeting ended at 8p and then I had to stop to say goodbye to Judy!!Finished up packing , had to make sure I had all the maps , info on the Travellers , my credit card and cash etc !!I am finally all set, taken my bath and just Dissing till my eyes close and I have to go to bed !!Alarm set for 4:30a !!

My memory card came in the mail soooo once I am back it will be Elvis Baby!!

Finally I get to the Elvis trip!!! We ran outta thruway before lunch so stopped here



Doug was soooo happy they had macaroni!!!!



Now the first drama occurred shortly after , we did not see the school zone and got pulled over for speeding Poor Laurie it was her first EVAH ticket :

We reached the Wingate by around 2 p Now Drama struck again , I took 6 of them up to their rooms and Laurie followed with the luggage cart and 2 I soon get a frantic call 1 will NOT get into the elevator : So down I head , and after a few firm words and telling him to press the button for the elevator and hold my hand to keep me safe and let him press the floor button we were of PHEW!!! We then settled in and then headed out for the Forum and a quick supper at A & W as it was close and we could get a parking spot at The Forum for the evening Fetsivities and just walk over !!!

Saturday morning saw us up early for the Car Parade We parked our van again and walked to the A & W for the Parade

But we will be doing a trip to Cleveland next month and Disney in September and then cruise again in Jan (and prob a couple days in WDW of course!) Well have to bump this up myself !!! This week has been insane !!I spent 14 hours on Tuesday my first day back after Vermont , straightening out the discharge instructions for our sweet Helen who came home on Monday !! With me not being there shall we say a LOT wasn't done by nursing that should have been, people not called was the biggest offender . Exact plans not explained , items not in from pharmacy etc etc . Then came Wednesday with a Staff Meeting that included all the usual stuff plus a hands on training of ostomy care AND a wheelchair securement training Of course our wheelchair lift got stuck , and I was glad as the instructor saw first hand that we were NOT making up the 2 years worth of complaints Then I had an annual case review and then had to tackle the weekly financial stuff !! Today I was in Training all day and then had banking and entering to do along with showing a staff who wasn't present for the ostomy care training how to do it !! Poor Helen then fell in the showere cuz she stood up from the shower chair So after we got her up and safe and thankfully un hurt and asked her WHY !! She pulled her Bag offCan this week get any worse ???Well YES tomorrow I have to do the Self Advocates Basket Auction I dread to think what the baskets will look like inspite of my many phone calls to their Managers telling them to HELP them!!!Then I am hoping for a more relaxing Saturday and a much shorter one !!!!!
