Where will Princess Tiana Appear??

Anyone want to guess what character meal the new Disney princess will appear?? Having an Ethiopian daughter I am more than thrilled that there will be a new black disney princess! I'm really hoping that they put her in a character meal somewhere by the time we go in November!!

I think it will depend on the success of the movie. Giselle is not at any of the breakfasts. You may see her in the parades or for autograph signings around the release of the movie but I doubt you will see her at any meals for a while.

I personally think no matter how successful the movie that she should be incorporated into the parks permanently. We have princesses of so many races--it is time for a black princess. If they want little girls to believe they are all princesses then they need to all be represented! I hope the movie does well...I want her to be around.

I hope we see her when we go in March. DD has never been to the movies and I think we will go see this for our first time ever to the movies.

Folks, you are going to see a HUGE marketing push for this new princess, and that will include having her out in the parks at Christmas. Even Gisele was out in the parks when Enchanted was released, at least she was in the parade for a while. (I am surprised for so short a time.) But Disney is intending this princess to become one of the "core" princesses if they can get it. Do they still have the princess meet-n-greet in toontown? I would guess she will be there, although its possible they may give her her own meet and greet somewhere else. Remember, not only is she black, she is really the first "American" princess...they could tie her in to Liberty Square (actually, DL Liberty Square is based on Lousiana architecture, so that would make more sense than at WDW). I also think there is a good chance there is initially a meet-n-greet at DHS, as they put almost all new animated movies through there. Eventually, if the movie is a hit, you will see her come into the rotation at places like Akerhaus. Possibly you could put her at the American pavillion at Epcot. The only place you won't see her is AK, where Pocahantas is pretty much the only "princess" that works there. (DD is going to really miss that show, but that's another tale.)

Her name was originally going to be Maddy (short of Madeline) but there was some concern (and a lot of outcry actually) that the name played into certain racial sterotypes and sounded like a "slave" name so it was changed to Tiana.
I don't want to get into an argument about it or anything and I don't know details that was just the reason.

I couldn't agree more!!!!!....On the same note, I would love to see Shanti from jungle book in the parks.

Although this new princess will probably not be there, if they contiue to have the Pixie Hollow meet and greet, one of Tinkerbelle's friends is a fairy of color!

I just wanted to add, that it takes a long time for any character to make it to a dining location. They still have Jo-Jo from Jo-Jo Circus at Hollywood and Vine. That show is no longer on and not only that the only character with that is Little Einsteins, so it takes awhile for them to be incorpated into the meals and at that out of the meals. I definately think that one should be updated maybe to Handy Manny and Little Einsteins.
On the same point tho, I do think you will see her in the parks especially a lil before and during the movie's release and after for DVD sales. I hope permently as well.

I am excited for this movie to come out, I have seen a advirtisement on a DVD and I think it will be adorable. Plus, I am ready for a major Disney Musical Movie. You do realize the last time Disney had a musical movie to hit theatres where the characters actually sang was Tarzan and not even really that one so I guess it would have been mmmm Hunchback, which I really did not like. Sorry, I kinda got off the subject... its just thats why I love Disney so much, I love the movies from when I was little, ones that the Sing-A-Longs came from.

I forgot to add that I read somewhere (a while ago) that Disney would have Princess Tiana's story time at Port Orleans Resort. As a matter of fact, I clearly remember reading- that she would make her Official Debut at Port Orleans. I can't remember where - maybe Jill Hill - I can't remember, its been a while.

Disneyland doesn't have a "Liberty Square", we have a "New Orleans Square". Yes, it's a no brainer to put her there, but I personally think all the Disney characters should be confined to Fantasyland. Putting them in other areas of the parks is annoying. Am I in the wild west of Frontierland, or a cartoon with Woody? Am I in the jungles of Adventureland, or a cartoon with Aladdin?

I also think the characters should be evicted from CRT, Akershus, and Crystal Palace.
