Where were you a year ago...

Ah, it seems like only yesterday that Trina was busy making lanyards and I was of course trying them on to make sure they worked.

All this was of course in preparation for the Great Pin Adventure that was held on August 11, 2001 during the Epcot Pin Celebration. It is hard to believe that was a year ago today. So much has changed in this past year. We had a lot of fun as we gathered to trade some pins and share an adventure or two. Against my better judgment, I have posted pictures from last year's event. The Great Pin Adventure was my first pin meet and I have to tell you I wasn't quite sure what to expect. With the help of a lot of friends, I survived and after going through all of that, I think I am ready for another one. This time though it won't be quite so stuffy. I will try to lighten up and not be so introverted and serious. So who's up for The Great Pin Adventure II?

standing in a line to get my name in the computer ... standing in another line to see what pins I should be able to buy ... another line to buy the pins ... yet anoter line to have the pins, maps, etc. signed by the artist ...

explaining to my friend (who was at WDW for the very first time ) why she is spending her first two days at WDW in line - hey the more people who signed up, the better my chances of getting the pins I wanted, right ?

The pin event was probably the first time I traded (in person) with someone other than CMs!

You looked like Kevin Bacon in Footloose. Hmmm, does that mean Steve is playing the part of Lori Singer? Ok, now that is just creepy. It's gonna be hard for you guys to top last year's performance.

It was the first time meeting most of the Disboard people, we (Raulandpinboy) had only been on the boards a short time, and even we had been regulars at the Cont. pin meet, this was our first Event..and like Jeff, didn't quite know what to expect..We didn't get to the breakfast last year..no one told us about it until it was too late, but this year we are doing it all..we didn't get to do all of the GPA last year, but what we did do was a lot of fun..that last Sat. night pin meet is stuck in my memory..

Like being there in the pin traders natural habitat, and feeling like I belonged there (very scary!!) and meeting some of the greatest people ever, and making many new friendships, that hold today

We celebrated the anniversary by standing on top of the Contemporary, and watching the MK fireworks.. then I have to tell you that our GPA pin meet last year, tops the fireworks..

Same thing as this year. Sitting at my desk at work and wishing I was in WDW. This year I'm not crying as much since the pin event isn't going on right now. Instead I'm counting the days.....T minus 39 and counting.

I was trying to convince my children that we would only wait in line one more time for pins on our vacation...right!!....this year I am sitting here wishing I was going with all of you.
