Where To Watch Grand Prix Final In 2 Weeks

Don't know if this is the correct place to post but here goes. Coming over from the UK in 8 days for 2 weeks. However Brazilian Grand Prix decider is on Sunday 21st October Really want to see Lewis Hamilton win his first season and wondered where the best place to have something to eat and watch the race would be. We are staying in I-Drive. Race starts at 1pm UK time. Any help appreciated. thanks

Just saw your post and thought I'd throw in my support for Lewis Hamilton. Despite his pit lane mishap in China he still has a really good chance of holding off Alonso to become the youngest and only rookie F1 champion. I had the good luck to see him win the USGP in Indianapolis this year. Incredibly talented driver.

I wish I could help. The races are aired on the SPEED network in the states, but I'm not sure how likely you are to find them being shown in a sports bar or something. Seems like NASCAR is so popular here that Formula 1 is a bit overlooked, even though I find it a lot more exciting (lap after lap in a circle bores me to tears).

Anyway, good luck. Nice to hear from another F1 fan. Not many in the Midwest.

The race is in Brazil, so it will be starting 11am Brazilian time, which is 1 hour ahead of East Coast (& Florida) You can find the schedule on speedtv.com Coverage starts at 11:30am. Speed is usually not a basic cable channel, so it's kind of hit and miss if they will have it on the line up of any cable TV you may have at your hotel (or wherever you are staying) I know the satellite companies have it. It's down to the local cable companies. I've been in US for 11 years, there were a couple of dry years for F1 on TV, but it's a bit more available than it used to be. They even actually carry a few of the races on network tv, unfortunately not this one. If they did it would be on the Fox channel.

Another thing might make it tricky, Sunday is football day (American, that is!) Sports bars will probably be crowded with that, trying to get someone to let you watch F1 might be an uphill struggle. However there is a big ex-pat community in Orlando, so there must be somewhere! It's not often we actually have a Brit in with a shot of winning something!!

I'm in WDW that weekend, and have just realized I'll miss it. I shall have to get my Mum to text me. My brother was just in Japan, then China with F1, lucky guy (he was working, though)

Getting a sports bar to turn off Nascar or Football is tough when only 2% of Americans whatch F1

I know the Ferrar guys usually get together at bars or clubs that cater to Italian food .... you might try www.ferrarichat.com and see if there is any group gathering or party planed in Orlando for the race. ( you many have to leave the park and drive into Orlando, but it would be a lot of fun)

Otherwise I'd try to find someone from the Brazilian community.
I'm sure those guys will be having a party somewhere?

At Disney....ESPNzone is on the boardwalk behind Epcot... that's the big sports bar, you might check with them....maybe they have a F1 party booked? But its a long-shot.

Also... a few miles down the road is Sand Lake Road ( 100's of theme resturants ) one of the places was a car and racing themed museum... (probably a lot of Drag Racing and NASCAR) but I"m sure they will have the F1 race on ....its a big place.

Also... I know they have a NASCAR track at Disney.... maybe some of the guys might be watching the race over there. ( They might not want to admit to it..... the old joke- I like FAST-CARS not NASCAR)

You probably will have a problem. Because NASCAR is still going on. On the 21st, NASCAR is at Martinsville and the Chase for the championship is still up for grabs. Coverage of that race will be on that afternoon on ABC. I'm sure most sports bars will have that on as well as at least two American football games plus the World Series if that's being played on that day.

The best thing to do would be to contact your hotel and ask if they get the Speed channel. We've actually had offsite places have that as a cable option. Disney World will not have it on the TVs in the rooms. You might want to try an email since it would be an international call to the hotel.

According to speedtv.com, the Brazilian Grand Prix will be on that channel on Friday, October 19th at 1AM Eastern time.

Tvguide.com will have a listing of shows but it's only for the next week (a running week). You can check there to make sure closer to the date (about a week before). At the top, you can set the date and time and also narrow down your options of shows listed. Pick the Sports Programming option. Since Speed is not a "normal" channel, you'll have to scroll down towards the bottom of the listings. If I remember to do this, I can post what I find out closer to the date. If I don't, PM me and I can do a quick check for you.

The Brazilian Grand Prix will be on American television on the Speed Channel on Sunday, October 21st at 11:30 AM Eastern time. Speed Channel is a national channel so the programming is the same across the country. If you get to a sports bar, you can ask for one of the TVs to be turned to Speed Channel. Any sports bar with satellite feed should be able to do that. Actually, any sports bar should have Speed Channel as a ready option.

Another big yea for tvguide.com. Last plug, I swear. I plugged in the Universal Studios zip code (since the OP is staying on I-drive) of 32819 and got the channel listings for cable and satellite programming. OP - if that's not your hotel's zip code, let me know and I can plug in the correct one.

It doesn't appear that Speed Channel is offered in that area on regular cable. So I would say watching the race at the hotel is not going to be an option.

For viewing at a bar, the DirectTV with local channels channel is 607. If the bar has Dish Network with local channels, the channel is 150. That will help when you ask to have a TV changed to the race. Good luck and PM me if I can help in any other way.
