Where to view the Parades?

I know this question has been asked many times over but where is the best place to view the parade that is NOT in the main flow of onlookers. Where is the "best kept secret" place? In April I will be going and would like to have that planned out. I am going with a few people who have short fuses so it would be nice to be at a place where they may be less people.

A look at the Parade Route
Disney's (MS) Electrical Parade and the 3 O'Clock Parade both start near the Firehouse and exit near Splash Mtn.
MVMCP and MNSSHP Parades both start near Spalsh Mtn. and exit near the Firehouse.

Less crowded than on Main Street, but still spectacular viewing can be found near the Hall of Presidents,
or deep into Frontierland, past the Country Bears.

There really aren't any secret places. You'll find that all the spots that people will list here will be taken if you don't show up early.

Just remember when selecting a spot that people who are standing up (including tall people and those who pop kids up on their shoulders) will be lining the street.

Best of luck!

Thanks Robo for the map and Kaligal. I understand it will be crowded regardless. Was just looking for maybe a less crowded spot. Last year we stood right in front of Casey's. Great spot a bit crowded. But we got there early. Now I will NEVER stand in the main hub for the fireworks again. Ever. Any suggestions on where to stand for that.

We like to stand in the center of the Main Street railroad station, especially when we plan on leaving and catching a bus or boat right after Wishes is over. If you get there early enough you might even get a table and chairs...

Do keep in mind for those of you going between this weekend and Christmas, there will be a giant Christmas tree blocking the view up Main Street. You'll see the parade as it comes around the hub, but won't have a great view up Main Street.

They always say that Frontierland is less crowded. Come parade time, I have not found that to be the case. But Main Street has people lining up sooner than Frontierland does. You can usually get a better seat in the back of the park than you'd get on Main St at the same time. KWIM?

But like I said, if you show up 5 minutes before (or during) the parade, both sections are going to be full.

Off to the right of the hub, near the entrance to Tomorrowland - that's where I usually stand.

Further back on Main Street would be nice IF you didn't run the risk of taller and/or fatter people standing in front of you. But you do run that risk. And you may not be able to get around them. Main Street is a mess when it is crowded.

I don't like the view off to the left of the castle...and parts of it are lit, which makes the whole thing less spectacular.

People do watch from behind the castle...and if you just want to see bursts in the sky, that's great. But if you want the whole deal, I can't advise it.

That's me. We all have our preferences.

I think for the first night I want to see the whole thing - I LOVE the Wishes song - so I will take your advise on standing to the right. Probably for the rest of the week if we are there at that time we will view from the back or just ride rides while everyone else is watching.

We are going on what seems to be a very busy week. I hate that too. Everyone that is going except one could have gone at any time but since she is a teacher she had to go on Spring Break :headache:
