Where to trick or treat at or near DW

We are not doing the party and I am wondering where I could take my kids trick or treating. We’re staying at AKL. I would be thankful for any ideas.

We skipped trick or treating the year we were at Disney for Halloween. All-Star Music had a table set up near the pool where the kids could go pick up candy. They each got a bag full, and were happy. My daughter wouldn't dress up, and adding extra walking to already exhausting trip didn't make sense.

That said, we live in the country, so we don't typically do traditional trick-or-treating. I've thought about taking the kids somewhere else, but I've never felt comfortable trick or treating in a neighborhood where we aren't also passing out candy. Halloween at Disney wasn't a huge departure for my kids. I think we even attended one of the normal trunk-or-treats the week before we went, so they didn't miss anything we normally would have done.

Maybe try Celebration ? Also sounds like you could visit other resorts to get free treats. That would be fun to do a resort candy crawl !

Have you considered SeaWorld's Spooktacular? Very kid oriented.

Personally I wouldn't be going anywhere "in the public" if you are looking for free ToT. I'd likely create my own special fun day depending on your plans. Find out what your hotel is doing if staying there and add on, or do something fun or extra in a park if I am going to a park. I was there last year and DS and I wore fun matching Halloween shirts and went to Disney Springs. They had some extra stuff happening, stilt walkers and other fun. We took pictures and had a great time. I know he missed ToT but it was a different kind of Halloween fun.

We're going to be at Disney on Halloween this year. And we are with my 2.5 year old grandson.

We plan on doing AK during the day, and then heading back early to do some of the activities they have at the hotel. My husband and I will bring some candy to make into bags, as well as my daughter and her boyfriend.

We plan on handing some out to kids near our room maybe, or at the hotel (we're staying at the ASMovies). I hope the ASMovies does the table with candy, as that will make him feel like he's ToT a little.

He was so into ToT last year, and it's all he has been talking about lately. Our goal is to make it as much like halloween as possible for him. I think it's such a fun experience to get to do Halloween there, especially since he loves it so much. We're going to bring a couple of outfits for him to wear for a few days leading up to and including Halloween. Plus everything is decorated, I think he is going to love it.

We also have packed some decorations for our room, window and window shelf. One year it was all pirate themed. My DS loves it when we decorate. I've even brought those lights that move putting shadows on the ceiling.

Suction Cups from the dollar store let you hang all kinds of decorations on the windows. Great way to come back to the room, he loves looking for our room!
