Well everything has finalized with my DVC purchase finally! :cool1: I have already made arrangements for Sept at the Boarldwalk villas for our first DVC trip. Im so excited! While telling a good friend this weekend he said that he has never been! :earseek: So we invited him along and at 33 he will be seeing Disney for the first time. We are only going for 5 days so Im wondering what should I be sure to bring him to see? He loves rides so of course we will hit the thrillers, but what else?

For the first time every place you go will be terrific and always cherrished! Stay at either the boardwalk or Beach Club it gives you epcot which is perfect for the age. ENJOY ENJOY!!

i think MGM would be a good visit as well. you have ToT there, ultimate thrill ride, and Rockin' Roller Coaster right next door. fantasmic is a must see show to end a day at MGM. there are a lot of indoor activites to do at MGM, so if the weather is bad, MGM is a great place to go.

The dining - like CG or Boma's at AK - strolling around AKL is a cool experience.
PI - might be interesting if you're a dance/party type or as your at Boardwalk, JellyRolls.
Give him a few books on disney and let him/her pick out a few things they might really enjoy.
Be sure not to miss Illuminations - that always awesome for 1st timers.

Don't forget to wait for the front of the monorail. Even as an adult I think it is the coolest (my favorite is TTC to Epcot at Sunset)!!!

1st time for any age, means first day at MK.

Then all the parks after that!

It is also great to take a first time to chef mickeys for breakfast their first time..I don't care what age you are, a kiss from mickey right off the bat is always excellent!

You all have given be great ideas, thanks! We will definately check out the night life :drinking1 And as many times as I have gone, I still haven't been able to catch Fantasmic, so thats on the list! It's such a different experience without the kids. I can't wait!

I would say PI and some fine dining. You might also want to try some drinking "adventures." Drink around the world in epcot or do the monorail drink-a-thon. Both should be quite fun. I have drank around the world but since we will not be giong to parks this trip i'm thinking we might try the monorail drink-a-thon!

In May I took my DH to Disney for his first time as an adult (he had been before as a child but it has changed ALOT since then!!) We stayed at the AKL and he LOVED it (we like animals alot though so that helped) The first ride I took him on was Test Track at Epcot - there was a very short line and he started to complain (not too much though - just saying - what ride is worth a wait this long (it wasn't that long!!) I knew he just didn't know it was :confused3 so we get on the ride and TRUST me the ride totally won him over and he wa  :cool1: the rest of the trip. So of course we had to do TT again and again!!

Can't wait till Sept to ride it again!! :cheer2:

Get yourselves some reservations for the Hoop-Dee-Do at Fort Wilderness. Skip lunch on that day, got to try for those reservations as soon as possible, and eat all the ribs, chicken salad and strawberry shortcake you can hold. I'm not any kind of chicken eater at home but I do have 2 breasts at the HDDR, it can't be beat. We go over during the day, and chicken of the same kind is available in Crocketts Tavern, next door to Pioneer Hall, and we get chicken, some slaw and fries and have a beach picnic or take it back to the Poly pool where we usually stay and take down some beers later at night, eat the chicken, drink some beers around the pool and watch the fireworks. Just alittle touch of home for us, kinda get tired of the resturant deal after awhile.
Also, its all the beer and sangria pop and whatever yuo want to drink at the HDDR and we've seen the show over 20 times, and love the daylights out of it. Pricey, but its great chicken and pitchers of wine and beer and at night in Fort Wilderness its like a different world and catch the EWP from the beach!!

Won't regret it!

While I personally love to start a trip at MK, when I take my bf (36) to WDW for the first time this September, we're not starting at MK. When we first talked about the possibility of him going, he wasn't sure he'd want to. He was afraid it's all for kids. I promised him that wasn't true. Therefore I don't want to go to MK first, because that will be the first thing he sees!

We're arriving around 4 pm on a Saturday. We're going to have dinner at the luau at the Poly. Sunday we're going to go to Epcot. Monday is MGM, Tuesday is Sea World (this is for him. He really wants to go to Sea World), and then Wednesday we'll finally hit the MK.

He also said he's afraid he'll be embarassed. He doesn't want Mickey to just come up and hug him. :rotfl: I told him A) that will only happen if you want it to and 2) Who the heck are you going to know there to be embarassed in front of?

I'm planning to hit the thrill rides and spending a lot of time in Epcot. He's a musician so I'm going to make sure we see the different musical acts there. And we're going to do a day at the water park. He wants to rent the Sea Raycers, which I've never done, so we'll do that. I'm totally catering to his needs on this trip because I've been there 14 times before, I'm a DVC member who we'll be going for the next 49 years, and I want him to want to go back! So I'm going to give him the best time ever! Even if that means no MK on the first day. :sad2:
