My daughter is a fantastic artist, we are hitting Disney again this summer and was wondering if there were any places that you uys would recomend we see.

Sometime you will have to go in mid November when the Festival of the Masters Art Show is at Downtown Disney. They have allot of the area around World of Disney covered with sidewalk chalk artist drawings, and their work is absolutely awesome. They have artistic activities for the kids, and also artists with tents on the West Side. My neice was 9 when we went in November and loved it.

Sorry, but I'm drawing a blank on what to specifically do in the summer except for the several shops where they sell prints. One attraction she might enjoy is The Magic of Disney Animation at MGM.

Yes - make sure you do the Animation Studio at MGM. We LOOOVE going there.

It's nice during slow times, to just walk out and walk right back in, over and over - and come out with ton's of pics you drew.

You might also check out the meal with the imagineer. It's pricey I think, but I've heard good things. We've never been as we can barely draw stick figures. :thumbsup2

Thanks for the ideas.
I will check out MGM animation.

What is the meal with the imagineers?

Sometimes they have a Disney artist drawing sketches for sale in the Magic of Animation shop. It's really quite neat to watch them and see how they work.

I was just going to post the same link. It's $35 for kids and $60 for adults. Pretty cool :cool1:

The Quest at Downtown Disney has an animation class. It is all done on computers and they walk you thru drawing different characters. Once the class is complete, you can pay to get a copy to take home. Hope you have a good time!!! :thumbsup2

Hey Coswell, Also try Disney Quest. They have a class on one of thier floors that is so great. They have different characters drawn every other hour or so.. Its great! :cool1:

I like the MGM how to draw thing better than the DQ one. MGM uses real pencils, and you get to keep your work for free! You might want to bring a folder or something to put it in. The character they teach you to draw changes throughout the day.

we did the mgm one and it was fun plus set up) at least then like a classroom type thing, it was really fun

There's also the Art of Disney stores in both Epcot and DTD (DTD store is much larger). Nothing she could actually participate in doing there, but if you want to see some incredible artwork in a myriad of styles for her to admire, those stores are great.

Also, if you're going before the Flower & Garden festival ends at Epcot, they have a lot of great artwork there too.

Remember when you do the animation studio at MGM, it's fun to go through the whole thing the first time around as far as watching the show, etc. BUT you can get to the "drawing class" by going through the art gallary and that way you don't have to sit through the show every time. One of the CM's told us that and my kids went to about 5 classes that day and drew a dif character each time.
