I am traveling to WDW in June with my 16, 13, and 11 yr old girls. Any advice on which resort to stay? We are looking at AS Movies, but I am afraid it might be too juvenile for them. Thanks!! :earsboy:

So is there just a total of 4 of you? You didn't state what your budget is so....POR or CBR are large moderate resorts with plenty of swimming pools (one themed and the rest are "quiet" unadorned pools). The rooms at moderates are bigger than the value resorts.........so that's why I went with one of them.

Give more details and you'll get more help! :flower:

Sorry for the sketchy info........there are 5 of us in total. DH and I taking the kids. We want to stay on WDW property, but not break the bank.....moderate would be the max. What I am running into is 2 rooms at an AS resort seem to be cheaper than 1 room at a moderate. What I am not sure of is whether or not the price difference will be worth it. With smaller children, I would think the AS definitely. And with teens, not sure if they even care one way or the other. May just be me obsessing

Any suggestions would be great!

Thanks

You might check the DVC Rent/Trade board and see what it would cost you to rent points for a 2 bedroom at one of the DVC resorts.Depending on what your dates are you might get a pretty good deal and the resorts are wonderful!

You can also check on Ft. Wilderness cabins, they sleep six. Just watch for codes and maybe you can get a good enough price to stay there. You can keep a check on the codes at http://www.mousesavers.com.

Good luck and have fun!

I'd go with 2 rooms at Pop. With 3 DD's, you'll appreciate the extra bathroom. Your girls would probably like the theming better at Pop than at ASMo.

Which of the value resorts do your daughters like? have you asked them yet which themes appeal to them? If you can get a good rate, I would try the cabins at FT. Wilderness too as the other poster said since 1 cabin sleeps 6. I think another option might be thr swan or dolphin-I think one of them allows 5 in a room. I think there's also suites at WL, but they're pretty pricey. good luck deciding!

With a 16 year old in the mix I would agree that Pop Century is a likely choice here. The mods are probably going to bust your budget with two rooms. AB rooms at POR with a trundle bed are an option though and if that is available and of interest to you I would go with that.

I don't think you can get five people in the values.

Take a look at Port Orleans--The Alligator Bayou section features pull out trundle beds and really is the only value or moderate that accomodates five people, and would still be less expensive that getting two rooms at a value.

I talked to DH, and like Julie said, he really likes the appeal of 2 bathrooms. So that brings me to my next ? Which AR would anyone recommed? We are kind of torn between Movie and Pop. I have never stayed on sight before, so although I am not a newbie to WDW, I am a newbie to onsight accomodations. The DD's are not into sports at all, so I think that one is out. I asked the kids, but it is still an abstract idea to them at this point. The 16 yr old has never been, but I took the 13 and 11 yr olds 3 yrs ago, but stayed at the Grosvernor. Thanks for the help!

Nothing really to add to your question...just wanted to say hi to a fellow Okie.

:wave2:

Just stayed at ASMo with two teens after the last few trips being deluxe. I was surprised, but they had a great time and are "cool" with going back to value. I only have one girl, but with three the two rooms might be your wisest choice. My DS (16) just wanted to sit by the pool and watch the girls. There were plenty of teens around. I would say either Movie or POP, they were not interested in the other two. We were in Mighty Ducks which had just been renovated - so that was nice. Right by a big quiet pool or just a couple minute walk to food court/main pool. I think if I had to make a reserve now I would try to do POP - I think they would enjoy the theme there (and it's new) but wouldn't hesitate to take them to Movie again.

The only reference I have is Pop Century primarily because it is newest. Clean, nice staff and the Twinkie Tiramisu is great. (As Long as They Have It!)

Two bathrooms are nice too. All for less than a deluxe resort. Spend the excess on a character meal at Chef Mickey's.

I have stayed at ASMo and it was fine for our family of three. We really liked it! If I were you and getting two rooms I might consider the POP for 3 reasons.
1.) The room taxes at PC are slightly lower than the other values
2.) The resort is newer
3.) I know I'm only talking a few minutes here but I think it is a little more centrally located than the other values
Hope you have a wonderful time! :earsboy:
