Where to stay???

DH and I are going with a single friend in 2006. We are talking about when soon. We would have by then a 5 year old and a 2.5 year old. We are thinking deluxe due to ages and need for naps. Secondly, our friend is a bit of a princess type and I don't think the values are her style.

We have stayed at WL, CBR, CR and I have stayed at Ft. Wilderness. What do you think? BTW, it is our friends first trip to WDW.

You may want to think about a 1 or 2 bedroom villa at one of the DVC resorts. The one bedroom sleeps 4 plus a toddler under 3 in a pack n play. There is only 1 bed in the 1 bedroom and a queen sleeper in the living room. But the upside is the seperate rooms, full kitchen, washer and dryer and bath and a half. Your friend and your family can have a little privacy by closing the bedroom door. There is a TV in both the living room and the bedroom. The bathroom is set up with a shower, sink and toilet in one part and a huge vanity/sink with jacquzzi bathtub in the other part and they are seperated by a door. So more than one person can get ready at a time. My cousin, her husband, her DD and I have done this and it worked out quite well......

Will you be getting 2 rooms? If so, consider POFQ. The resort is very quiet and "grown up" at the same time it has a cool pool for the kids.

We just got back from Animal Kingdom Lodge. If your kids like animals it's a great hotel. We never waited more than 5 minutes for a bus and we spent an entire afternoon just doing the different kids activities at the resort. They have activities for the kids and when they complete each one they get a bead to put on a string. Makes a nice souvenier when they are done.
My DD (7) did the flamingo feeding, the animal tracking and the animal reasearcher activities. Also did the cookie decorationg at Boma.
There was also crayon rubbings in the lobby. If you go, make sure you get the Hidden Mickey search paper from the front desk. When it's completed, take it to the gift shop and you get a certificate and button for doing it.

I have a 4 year old and a 2 year old. Location is our number one consideration because of the naps, etc., so I would say either a monorail or an Epcot area resort. We have loved our stays at the Swan/Dolphin, and they have a junior suite that is two rooms if you are going to stay together. It's also a very nice deluxe resort and has had some great discounts in the past. For our March trip we are staying at the Contemporary due to a lack discounted rooms at the S/D. If money is no object, I would say go for YC/BC, Boardwalk or Poly.

If you can afford it go for a 2-bedroom at VWL or BCV or BWV - then your friend gets her own room - you and your husband get the kingbed, your kids the sleeper sofa in the livingroom.

or your friend get the king, you and your husband get the queen bed, and the kids get the sleeper sofa in the second bedroom.

the leaves the livingroom open for late night get together without waking the kids.

I would say VWL first - because with your kids ages I don't think they are into Epcot or Studios - the ones that you walk/boat to from BCV or BWV.

however if you think your friend would like some distance from the parks - OKW is a winner - bigger rooms - more space - everyone can spread out.

If you think you might like to do the nightline (after getting the kids a babysitter) - then SSR in DD - walking distance (okay my opinion) to PI.

I have not stayed there, but I think it might be a good choice. The rooms are supposed to be the biggest on property, and if you need an extra bed I think all of the rooms have a daybed. Also, with the age of your kids I think they will really like having the monorail go right through the building and Chef Mickeys. You can also walk to MK and I think you can ride a boat too.

I agree. You've been to CR so you know what to expect. Also, it's so close to MK and the monorail going through the building in sure to impress any first timers...
