Ok even though just over a year away where do most Alaska cruisers stay in Vancouver ??? I will be flying across Canada since I am in Canada eh!.. a couple of days earlier so where do recommend and where to get best price for that hotel ??? Many thanks for the info.

we stayed at richmond for 3 days prior. the car rental place and the sky train station was very close! dh dropped us off at the sky train station, returned the car to the car rental place, and walked over to meet us at the sky train station. and we took the train to port/canada place. really wasn't that bad at all. if i had smaller children, i wouldn't take public transportation...but since our ds's were older (10 & 13 at the time), they were old enough to wheel their own luggage and can keep up w/the flow of passengers and such...

When we did Alaska, we did the pre-night stay. Disney put us up in the Fairmont Waterfront Hotel which is literally right across the street from the cruise terminal. They picked up our luggage in the morning, and we just walked across the street. It was a beautiful hotel, good service and could not have been easier to get to the cruise terminal. I don't remember the price as it was part of our total cruise package and it was a couple of years ago.

I would say many stay at the Pan Pacific. That wasn't in our budget so we are less than a half a mile away for $134 a night.

We are on the members cruise to Alaska this year. PanPacific is our choice for the location, and its a beautiful hotel. Call now directly to the hotel, get yourself a AAA rate, including breakfast for two ( we are a party of three, I will eat breakfast, the others will work out or rotate who can join me) there is a starbucks on ground level of hotel. the rate is reasonable, I booked very soon after they opened reservations for this time period. the rates I saw online are more expensive. good luck. also try to get a rate through your airline, this worked for me for debarkation day for Fairmont airport hotel.

We will stay at the Blue Horizon on Robson St. both before and after our
cruise. Trip Advisor helped me make our decision...Great price as well..

Loved the Fairmont Vancouver Waterfront hotel - very nice and convenient! Great breakfast buffet in the morning too!

  • Most popular... Pan Pacific. Wake up to the the Wonder at your feet (just make sure your room is facing the right dock)
  • Nearby cruise terminal hotels.... Fairmont Waterfront (across the street), Fairmont Pacific Rim (3 blocks away)
  • Further away... Delta Suites, Day's Inn, Auberge
  • Even Further Away.... Hyatt, Marriot Pinnacle, Marriot Harbour front
  • Budget downtown.... Empire Landmark, Blue Horizon, Hampton Inn
  • Budget richmond/airport.... I love the Raddison Vancouver airport where the subway station is across the street... 20 minute ride downtown

Basically, Vancouver has a surplus of hotels to meet every budget. Check out expedia.

We're staying there next month prior to our cruise. $350/night through Disney if anybody is interested in this years price (that's for the room looking towards the porta john at the construction site behind the hotel). I think Canuck's get a discount on that price though and probably a better view :).

We are staying at the Pan Pacific this June. I booked it last June and got a $200 US AAA rate.
