Where to stay?

I apologize if I'm posting this in the wrong forum; I used to be a frequent lurker on the WDW boards and knew where everything went, but I haven't been on the DLR boards as much.

I'm trying to organize a trip to Southern CA for my family (me, DH, 3 kids), my parents, an aunt and my cousin. Last year the 9 of us rented a house in Orlando for two weeks and it worked out wonderfully, so we were hoping to do something similar in CA, but the website I'm using, vrbo.com, isn't coming up with a lot that fits our specifications. We would prefer 4 bedrooms so no one is stuck sleeping in the living area (and 4+ bedrooms seem to be hard to come by in SoCA, which surprised me), and my dad is insisting on bringing his poodle, which means we're limited to houses that accept pets. And evidently the few houses available in SoCA book up early, as everything we're finding that's decent is booked for the last two weeks of July, which is when we want to go.

Are there other websites like vrbo? I've googled, but haven't come up with much. Personally, I would prefer to stay in a hotel close to DLR, but with the dog coming along, I don't think that will be an option (even hotels that accept pets won't let you leave them there all day).

We would like to stay as close to Anaheim as possible so we can come back to the house/room for our 2 year old's afternoon naps.

Any suggestions on where to look (websites, towns with a quick commute to/from Anaheim) would be most welcome!

As you've probably noticed, there isn't the rental home inventory in Anaheim like there is in Orlando. I'm not familiar Anaheim other than getting from SNA to DLR and back, but I can suggest a few more places to look for rentals:

You might also try doing a google search for residential property management companies in Anaheim - they might be able to help you find a place.

Good luck! :)

Some of the hotels will allow your dog to stay in the room if it's in a crate. There is also a kennel at the park's entrances to use during the day.

WDWer mistake, staying at the hotel that looks right.

DLRer informed decision, staying at a hotel that is walking distance from the gates, many choices.

If you are coming for a couple weeks you should not stay in a central location as you will most likely be going on long day trips and may want to just stay further north of south for part of a SoCal trip.
