Trying to make this a enjoyable and affordable trip, needing help on where to stay? I've been looking at the Doubletree Hotel not sure if it's really that close like the idea of staying on grounds but it's pricey but willing to stay if not able to find another solution. Also we are staying 3 nights it it worth the unlimited pass or should I go with a 3 day park to park instead. Really need help:goodvibes

The Doubletree is about the closest you'll get without being onsite. You can walk it. You can get a package through www.universalorlando.com and that will get you early admission into Wizarding World. If you simply book through the Doubletree, you do not get early admission.

My son and I stayed at Double Tree Universal Entrance in 2010. It is a nice hotel but it isn't as close to the park entrance as you would think. There is a very busy street to cross to get to the Universal property. Once your on the property then it is a very long walk to the gate. We actually took a cab to the park and back a few times which was about $5 a trip. We went back in 2011 and stayed on property at Lowes Royal Pacific. Yes it's a little more expensive but it's worth it for the express pass that comes with staying on property. If you buy those for 3 days it will almost be the same cost. It's worth it to be on site. You can walk to the park or take the water taxi. Hope you have fun!
