Last year we stayed at Pop during free dining. We are planning to go back and would like to try and stay at a resort where you don't have to ride the buses. (too many bad experiences!) Can you stay at a mod and ride the boats and monorail or do you have to pretty much stay at a deluxe? Any info is appreciated. TIA!

All Values and mod resorts use the buses to get to the parks.
POFQ and POR do have a boat that goes to Downtown Disney.

If you are going to Animal Kingdom you need to take bus.

The monorail resorts are Poly, CR and GF. You can take a monrail from these resorts to the MK. To get to Epcot from the CR or the GF you take a monorail to the TTC and transfer to the Epcot Monorail. If you are staying at the Poly you can walk to the TTC to catch the monorail to Epcot.

From the Epcot resorts you can walk or take a Friendship Boat to Epcot or MGM. THe boat from the Epcot resorts goes to the international gateway which is located in the World showcase so if you want to go Future World at Epcot you need to walk through the world Showcase to get there.

There is no 1 resort that has monorails or boats or a combination of that goes to all the parks.

You need to decide which type of transportation you prefer and which parks you will visit the most and then decide which resort best fills your needs.

Thanks for you help! I should have been a little more specific. I knew we would have to take a bus sometimes, just trying to avoid it as much as possible. We are thinking maybe the Poly or the Beach Club.

Hi - Poly would be a monorail resort and you'd have access to MK and Epcot by monorail and boat (MK only) - other parks would be by bus.

Beach Club, you can walk to Epcot (or take boat), but would have to take buses to all other parks.

BTW - these are my two favorite resorts - good choices!

Both are great resorts :goodvibes. Having stayed at both we prefer the Poly, but that's just our preference :rolleyes1. I don't think you can go wrong with either one. I think it depends on where you would spend most of your time, as the Poly is in a great location for MK (you can't beat the monorail) and the BC you can walk to Epcot ;).

Actually there is no bus to the Studios from BC. You have to walk or take the boat.

I would stay at the grand floridian if I were you. It has monorail service, Character dining, and great service.

We've mostly done a split stay between YC & GF. Then AK is the only park we have to worry about with busses. We usually rent a car and drive there and to the waterparks.

If you are spending most of your time at MK and EP, then I would say stay on the monorail.

If you spend most of your time at EP and DHS, then the Boardwalk area is fantastic. The boats are really nice and relaxing and you get your "own" private entrance to the World Showcase at Epcot.

Good luck deciding!

You may find it cheaper to stay at a moderate or value and just rent a car. That way you avoid the buses altogether, and you will still come out ahead financially. Monorail resorts are considerably more expensive than what you paid at Pop.
