Where to stay?

We (me, DH, DD-5yro) stayed at CBR May '07 and absolutely loved it ! We would love to go back May '08 but since CBR main pool will be closed, I thought we'd try somewhere else. Have priced both the Beach Club and Poly. Both significantly higher than I'd like ($1,500-2K more than CBR). Do you think BC/Poly are worth the extra $$. Last year we did spend time enjoying the resort, everyday we'd take a break and go back to the pool, etc. I do prefer a Mod/Deluxe. Not interested in CSR or POR. I'm hoping some codes will come out for the Poly/BC for May '08, but nothing yet. Your thoughts please ! :confused3
Thanks.

What about POFQ? DD18 and I have stayed at CBR, POR, and POFQ (and some deluxes). We don't care for the theme of CSR since we are from the southwest.

If you budget allows (and I would use rack rate to determine this since we never know if there will be discounts) you to stay at a deluxe, then go ahead! But if you are "pushing" it and assuming that there will be a discount, then I would play it safe and go for POFQ. If things go in your favor, you can always upgrade.

Oh, and I forgot to add.....

We take a daily break back to the resort also (I have spinal problems) for me to lie down and then we visit the hot tub/pool and then go back to a park. That's about the extent of the amenities that we use! So, we actually prefer NOT to stay in a deluxe because for the cost, we do not make full use of the facilities.

Now ANYWHERE else we travel to we MUST stay at upscale hotels!!! But at WDW, most of our time is spent in the parks!

I've never been to CBR but have followed the threads relating to the resort as we'll be staying there in January, but before the slated construction time. If I recall correctly, they are in the process of or have already installed slides at a few of the "quiet" pools. Would it be possible for you to still stay at CBR even without the main pool? Are there any accommodations CBR is making, such as allowing you to use the main pool at another resort?

When my kids were five, they enjoyed a pool...didn't matter what the amenities were, just a pool. Although they have fun with water slides and different pool features, they now actually prefer the quiet pools for prolonged swimtimes because the main ones are usually crowded.

I guess I question if it's really worth paying the difference in price for a Deluxe resort if the pool is the only issue. I will warn you that the main pool at the Poly in the summer is usually crowded, and it's questionable if all that are there are resort guests. Now Beach Club, with access to its swim area might be worth the extra cost. OTOH, Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon have some awesome kiddie areas, too. And tickets to the water parks will still be cheaper than upgrading your room.

JMHO. Giving you a few other things to consider.

If you are going to spend time (long afternoons or nights)at your Resort then I say yes, the deluxe is worth it.Choose the Poly if you plan to visit MK more often or the BC(my favorite area) if you choose Epcot. But there are also great moderate Resorts.:confused3 :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:
