Hi We came back from a fab trip to orlando last month staying 7 nights at pop centuary and 7 nights at the carribean beach. We also got married there so it was extra special. After staying onsite I wuld like to book again. My DH stats university this month and we will have to go at more busy times of the year which I am not looking forward too.I am torn between animal kingdom lodge which we ate at boma and thought was magical, port orleans but I don't know which part .We have a 4 year old if that helps or to go back to pop as for the money we thought it was great. We do normally have the dining plan when booking. Also does anyone know who is doing free dining at the moment and for what months.
I look forward to your help.:coffee: :wizard:

Hello

Haven't stayed at either of these but I think AKL would be the one for me :)

Bump for some more replies :)

Join the rest of us who have to take holidays during academic holiday periods, you would have to do this now with a child of school age anyway. With a DH at university I would imagine that disposable cash would be tighter and so it may be more affordable to stay at POP. We have stayed at POR when it was Dixey Landings and enjoyed it.

Cant quite understand when you say you do have the dining plan when you have not booked yet:confused3.

We have booked to go on 13th August and have free DDP within the hotel and ticket package. The offer in the UK was available to book up until 6th November. In the US a general offer has yet to be made but guests staying recently were offered the chance to 'Bounce Back' visit with free DDP. Booking with the US may offer this in the future.

Thanks for the reply. My daughter is allowed 2 weeks out of school and I was thinking of missing just one week and going mid october that runs into half term week.
sorry about the dining plan mixup but I missed a word out which I have now corrected.I looked on cosmos and there free dining finished around the same time.I loved pop centuary and you probably are right for me to go for the cheaper option.  :cheer2:

Hi Crabbie1

First of all, congrats on the wedding!:bride:

Now on to your question....

I have stayed at both POR and AKL and I personally loved AKL but there again I am an animal fanatic  so Disney plus animals is like a dream to me! :cloud9:

I did AKL over the 4th July which is historically a very busy period :crowded: but the hotel was fine, didn't feel overcrowded at all!

You just need to weigh up whether the increase in price is worth it or not, could the money saved be spent on extra pressies? :cool1: etc.. After all most of our time was spent in the parks!!!:woohoo:

This said, I am already looking at how much it would cost to go July 2008 to AKL but taking DSis14 :earsgirl: and DSis17 :earsgirl: as I am newly single!!:cool1: :rotfl2:

Yep - our children get 2 weeks 'no questions' too. We've taken advantage of that A LOT. Last year went 24/10 to 07/11 and stayed at CBR. It was a fantastic time to go. The crowds were really low and the weather superb.
