I there,
We are driving to Disney from Connecticut this August. We will arrive in Orlando at dinner time. Where is a good, cheap hotel to stay for one night before checking in at the poly? It is me DH and 3 DDS ages 9,8,7...TIA!

I am planning on staying at Hampton Inn Lake Buena Vista a night before we check in next year. It is $79 per night in June.

I have stayed at the Hampton Inn LBV and would definitely stay there again. I really liked the breakfast at Hampton Inn LBV - plus there was a microwave and fridge in the room. You can easily book on Hampton Inn/Hilton's website for around $75/night. I booked through lastminutetravel.com for about $56/night but it is an opaque site so you have to know which photos you are looking for to get the hotel you want through LMT.

If you want something a bit posher with more amenities (but more fees and breakfast expenses)- you can get the Waldorf Astoria or Hilton Bonnet Creek for $150-200/night - with lastminutetravel $90-150. I have also used hotwire to book a number of hotels in the area - betterbidding.com is a good resource for this. If using hotwire I would recommend DTD or LBV locations.

how much were your hotels? which?

We've stayed at the best western several times for the 40-50 dollar range, and also the Hilton for the 60-70 range. OP, I would also check the mousesavers site, they often have specials with local hotels going. Also, we have stayed at a value resort for a night before we start a Disney stay- often you can get a great price, as well as start the magic a little early!

We three stayed at the Radisson-Celebration this past August for one night before our WDW package. Payed $42 on Priceline. Hotel was fine, nice pool with a slide that the boys enjoyed. Lots of dining options nearby (we ate at Golden Corral, almost next door). Would stay there again.
