I have a Booking April 30th to May 3rd at the Riviera, very excited. We would like to add a stay either before or after to give us enough time for all 4 parks. I am recently disabled and use a scooter to get around.

Are question is this. Should we book off site? (I really want early admission so I would need a resort that offers that) or on site? (I would prefer to be on the monorail line for ease of access, I will be in very rough shape after a day at Magic Kingdom).

What resort would you recomend? Onsite or off? and any leads on booking a room?

Thank You
Tom

If it's in the budget and there is availability, I would consider staying at Contemporary and even consider the Garden Wing. You will be able to ride your scooter directly back and forth to MK without having to even use the monorail. If you stay in the Garden Wing, you can avoid the, often very crowded, tower elevators. Getting to an off site hotel after a day in MK is quite difficult IMHO.

If you wanted to stay offsite, last year I stayed at the Residence Inn at Flamingo Crossings and it was a really nice hotel and would be easily accessible for you. It's just outside the gates and it's where all the College Program kids live!

Hi Tom-

As someone who needs to use a scooter myself, if you do find an offsite hotel you are considering call the hotel directly and ask if their shuttle can accommodate a scooter. If you want to stay on the monorail loop and are worried about cost, have you thought about looking into renting DVC?

OP, There are no off-site hotels on the monorail loop--in case you didn't realize that. Also, the monorail loop hotels are among the most expensive on property.

I'm an on-site person, so I recommend that. It will be easier for you with the scooter, since there's direct transportation from all the resorts. Have you considered Port Orleans French Quarter? It's beautiful there and nowhere near as expensive as a Deluxe resort.

You're staying at the Riviera, right? Because of that, I'd add the extra days to the beginning of the vacation, since you'll want to best place to be the finale, not the intro!

Trying to do that now. Availaibilty is slim. I think I may have to split my stay over multiple hotels to make it work

I’m assuming you are looking at availability for either one or 2 nights from 4/28 - 4/30? It is pretty slim right now with no Pop Century and no POFQ but as it gets closer to the 30 days there will likely be cancellations. If you are worried about being fatigued, I would be inclined to stay 2 nights at something like POFQ so you could split your Magic Kingdom visit into 2 days. The bus drivers will help you navigate the scooter onto the bus if you are worried about that. I’ve stayed at POFQ and like the smaller size, one bus stop, and find it to be generally quieter even than some of the monorail resorts at times. 2 nights at Pop would be another viable option and save more money still.

Thank you. I did not consider POFQ.
