My family and I are going to be staying @ HH next month for two nights and want to stay one night in Savannah for one night. Do any of you fellow DVC'ers have any advice where to stay. We are looking for something around $100 or less. Or any other things we should know, like where to park, aviod these areas et cetera.

Thanks

We just left savannah after 4nights at HHI. We have stayed at the Westin across from River st twice before, but it is expensive(we are starwood members and used points), this time we stayed at Sheraton 4 Points in historic district. You really want to be in Historic /riverfront area for all the activities. There were Hampton Inn, Hilton Garden Inn, Courtyard by Marriott, Quality Inn all in that area that would be reasonable rates(check expedia). Higher end include (Westin), Hyatt Riverfront and Marriot Riverfront. There were a couple of non-chain that I saw by the Trolley tour area that looked a bid seedy, but they may be fine. One was Thunderbird. Parking in the Riverfront area is challenging at busy times, but we just walked from the hotel(left car), there are also busses. We did drive to Fort Jackson and Tybee Island which is very close using our car. Go on Savannah toursism website for activities. We first visit the tourism visitors center on River st across from the Hyatt to get maps and restaurant recomendations, etc. We did the Old Savannah Trolley tour this time..it was $25 per person for whole day and you can get on/off at 14 of the stops and its good until 4:30pm. Nice tour.

we stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in the Historic District...very nice, very clean, nice staff and breakfast included.

We like to stay at The Inn at Ellis Square. It is in the downtown district, so you can walk to most sites. Very close to Paula Deens restaurant. Outside of town can be a bit tricky, and risky. Did this once, never again! Also, driving and getting a parking place in town isnt fun either.
