DW and I are going to WDW next May with our four-year-old son. We are currently booked in our home resort of SSR; we are also staying at SSR in December. We are thinking about changing things up and trying a new place for next spring's trip. We cannot decide where to stay, but literally everything is open in a one-bedroom. We can't make up our minds as to what we want to do. We did BWV last March, and have ruled that out. I am a little concerned about the pool at BCV because of how easy it seems to lose a little guy, but it is probably where DW and I would like to stay the most. After that, we like all of the resorts equally. Can I get some opinions on where you would stay, and why, especially with a 4-year-old?

TIA

Well, if I were making the choice, I'd put either WLV or OKW at the top of my list...

Wilderness Lodge makes the top of my list because it's so convenient to MK, which is likely to be your four-year-old's favorite spot...there's a lot to be said for "easy" in moving a young one back and forth between the parks and your villa!

OKW was great over our Labor Day trip, which included a four-year-old and a 17-month baby...our little ones loved the pools (and we mostly used the quiet pool; we were in Turtle Pond area) and playground...but it was quieter...after a day of "sensory overload" at the parks, having a calmer-but-still-Disney spot to nap/wind down in the evening was awesome! And, the one-bedrooms are so much bigger--there's more "play space" that doesn't infringe on adult space...

Having said that--BCV is one of our two favorite resorts (SSR is the other), and we haven't tried AKV (although we have gone by to look at it and it IS seriously cool)...

What a wonderful "problem" you have! Should be comforting to know that you can't possibly make a "bad" decision!

I am doing AKV in May with my 4 (well she will be 5 then) daughter I know she will love it and my 1 year old son. Can you tell me why you do not want to go back to BWV with your 4yo. I am going in December. I have only gone 1 other time during spring break and I was hoping the reason I did not like it was spring break issues. Thanks for any info.

Thanks for all of then input. We decided to go with AKV. I am looking forward to it, since DW banned me from the hotel a few years ago (too remote for her tastes, just right for mine). She too thinks our little one will love the animals.

There was nothing wrong with Boardwalk, we just wanted to try something new. We enjoyed our stay there last spring quite a bit.
