Looking for a hotel/motel/resort/ B&B guesthouse that offers a nice pool that is within walking distance of Duval for a family of four at a reasonable price ($150/nt range).

I have been able to find some moderately priced guesthouses that include breakfast but their pools are so small and from reading reviews on tripadvisor it looks like most guests at guesthouses are adults. Hoping to stay somewhere that will have a lot of other families and a large pool.

Any suggestions would be really appreciated.
Thanks

Key West is so tiny that EVERYTHING in it is small as well...pools, rooms, homes, etc. We have been 3 times and twice stayed at chain hotels on the north side of the island - not walking distance to anything and very generic.

The last time we went, in 2001, we stayed at a tiny little place in Old Town. No pool or any other amenities, but the location more than made up for it. I can no longer find it online...it was called the Courtyard, or something like that. I guess it changed names or went out of business.

That being said, from what I have seen and remember, the Southernmost seemed to be family oriented and somewhat reasonable. It's on Duval, at the opposite end from Mallory Square.

Try this site for more info. Stay away from N. Roosevelt Blvd. as this is where all the chains are and it's not a good location! http://www.keywest.com/hotel.html

You didn't say how long you were saying but I would try VRBO.com, you will find many options there. Just click on Florida, and then Key West and voila:)

It's not walking distance to Duval, but we stayed at the Sheraton and it was awesome. The rooms and bathrooms were so nice and the buffet and pool were great! It was under $150

There is a Westin down toward Mallory Square right on the water. There is also a great B&B/Guesthouse called the Banyan House. It is on Whitehead in between the southernmost point and Mallory. As the name suggests, its known for the giant banyan tree in front of the house. Of course I may be a bit partial to this place, as until the about 1960 this was home to my mom's side of the family and my grandfather was actually born in the house...

We stayed at the Casa Marina Resort about a year ago. LOVED IT. We were looking for the same thing...awesome pool...and it was great!!!

It's a little far from Duval (about a 20 min walk) but I thought it was worth it. Cab rides weren't that expensive to get to Duval, if you want to go that route...
