Here's the thing - my two DD are going to WDW for a dance exhibition at one of the parks the week after school lets out (June 22-26), now DH has decided that he wants to go and maybe stay a couple of days after and go to the Universal Parks since we never made it when we were there in 2004.

We're staying at the POR during the time at WDW, can anyone recommend a reasonable place to stay near Universal??? Is it a good idea to go to te universal website and see their packages or is AAA better? Please help a newbie to Universal. BTW, my girls absolutely love thrill rides and they are only 10 & 8 :)

TIA :thumbsup2

it may be cheaper to go to the AAA site and we stayed at The Doubletree at the entrance to universal on major blvd in june for a week and the whole family liked it and think the AAA site has standard rooms for like 80 to 86.00 a night plus it is also only a 10 minute walk to the universal parks

We normally go the last week of June and it can be crowded.... The coasters will have at least an hour wait by 11am or so... I recommend staying onsite (use AAA discount to book your room...and book soon, as it's been 'open' to book for awhile now).... even if you can only afford 1 night onsite, it will get you 2 days of unlimited (fotl) express via your room key. Valid the day you check in (even if you check in early and your room isn't ready--they'll give you your key) and valid till park closing the day you check out.

At the time of year you plan to go, I'd stay onsite....but if not in your budget, at least 1 night :thumbsup2
