Hi!
We are going in June and we will be there 24 hours....what is a kid friendly, nice hotel...price doesn't matter..I want it nice for us and for kiddos

Altho I've never stayed there I would suggest with kids doing the DLH (disneyland hotel), it has more Disney theming. The Paradise Pier Hotel has cute Mickey Mouse themes too but Grand California is more of a lodge style and has less visible Disney theming.

I agree. The kids seems to really enjoy that Captain Hook slide at the DLH pool.

I agree about the theming, BUT at the same time i still think the GCH would be the best choice simply because LOCATION LOCATION and LOCATION. It is in the heart of property, right in the middle of DTD, a special entrance to CA and a very quick walk or monorail ride (through DTD) to DL.

My kids loved the GCH but only because they had bunk beds. Really, I think they would prefer the DLH. I'll find out eventually because we will stay at the DLH someday.....when they have those super low AP7 rates available.....LOL You know, the ones they haven't released yet. :)

I agree with staying at the Grand! Considering you will only be there for 24 hours, you will want to save every possible minute to be in the part, not walking to and from! ;)

do you actually plan on spending time at a pool?

My son likes the GCH, but LOVES the DLH. The pool pretty much sums up why, and all the Disney theming. The GCH is beautiful, location is great (although you can get rooms that have quite the walk), and has a very resort feel to it. But for kids, DLH can't be beat (in our opinion anyway!).

When my kids were 6 and 3, we stayed at DLH because we had heard all of the "kid friendlier" things. The pool was crowded and freezing and they hated it.

We stayed at the GCH when the kids were 8 and almost 11. The location was great and they really liked the lodge theming. They loved it.

I actually find the GCH more themed than DLH. DLH may have thrown characters into the mix, but GCH built everything around its theme.
