Here are the options, given the dates of when I plan to go, this is what is available:
travelers include my friend and I -no kids or DH's
# of days -weekend-Fri-Sun
I got a rate @ Dolphin for $159 other Disney mods for $145
and off property for $129 for a 1 BR.
Here are some other factors:
If we stay at a Disney on property that would be a moderate, I would not need a car or transport from airport. However, I would need to take transportaion to EPCOT Boardwalk area.
If we stay at Dolphin, I would need to either rent a car or pay for transportation from airport. Car rental is actually cheaper, however, I would have to pay for resort parking per day at Dolphin. But, we would be right where we want to be-near EPCOT.
Off property in a nice 1 BR resort-price is right, but not on properety and would definately have to drive to WDW.

What do you think?:confused3

Besides the cost of the transportation to the Dolphin it is Deluxe for peanuts more than a moderate. We decided not to due Dolphin due to DDP on package. If your not doing DDP, it's worth it!

I would recommend not staying off site for the following reason: If you are travelling with a friend, you can split up now and then. In my experiences people have different likes and dislikes and it makes it much easier to compromise if you have a means of transport besides the shared car.

Those are pretty good rate for the Dolphin. I would be happy with the Mod or the Dolphin, but it would take a cheaper rate than $129 to entice me to stay offsite.

I wouldn't waste time staying off-site for a weekend trip.

I would also avoid the rental car. It's not worth the waste of time to rent/return for such a short trip. You'll end up paying daily for parking.

The Dolphin is very nice but you would have to pay for a shuttle or town car.
If you split the town car with your friend, the round trip cost with tip would only be about $60 each. Really not too bad. If you want to be in the Epcot/Boardwalk area, this seems like the plan I would choose.

Thank you for the thoughtsThat is what i was thinking-dolphin, however, I may do the car rental-just rent it as a 1 way. I can get a rate of $20 one way. I don't mind the car rental experience-I do it all the time. I just wish that Solphin had ME!
