Where to stay for one night?

We're heading to WDW in late April with our daughter who will be almost 2. We'll be joining family on Saturday and staying at OKW, but we were thinking of flying down Friday in order to make the full use of Saturday at a park.

What's a good place to stay on property for one night? I'm torn between just picking a moderate resort and splurging for one night at a deluxe. I don't want to feel as if they $$ has been wasted if our flight is delayed, we get in in the evening instead of early afternoon, and we leave early in the morning to get to the park.

How late are the pools open and will it be warm enough in late April? Thanks.

I think I would just stay at an value for that one night. So little time to enjoy a deluxe resort.

I agree, a value would be my choice too. Pop Century is great, the "Disney feel" is everywhere you look! We also enjoyed ASMo. I don't think you'll go wrong anywhere, but pick somewhere fun!

Dec. 2004 we checked into the All Star Movies at 12:00 a.m. for one night. They moved our luggage the next day to the AKL. We got up and went to the parks. When we arrived at the AKL, our luggage was there. We are going again this April and we will do this again.

My family and I do this every year. We go to Florida to visit family, and like our first night to be at Disney. We have stayed at every hotel. My suggestion is this... If money really isn't that much of an issue, stay at the hotel that has the the place you most want to eat at. For example, If you really want to eat at the Whispering Canyon, stay at the WL. You cut a lot of travel time. Plus, if you are going to MK, then all you have to do is hop on the boat.

If you really want to cut down on travel time, stay at a hotel with the monorail. It's worth saving the extra time and energy with bus transportation. I prefer to stay at a monorail hotel when I have an early PS in MK or Epcot because it's less stressful getting to your PS on time. I really think a hotel with with the monorail provides the most magic in a short amount of time.

If money is an issue, I suggest skipping the moderate's all together, and stay at a Value. I personally suggest the Movies (Toy Story or Dalmations). We stay here a lot for our one night. It's a lot of fun for small kids, and the pool is usually open until 10 or 11pm. You have to deal with longer transportation to the parks, but worth saving the $.

Don't forget that Disney will move your luggage for you to the OKW. You won't have to take time out of your day to transfer to OKW. Just make sure that you ask for the instant check-out. Then you won't have to go to the desk to check-out. They attach your bill to your door early morning.

I selected Coronado Springs. We're really interested in a decent restaurant and a cool pool, for just that one night. I figured that I didn't want to stay "in view" of any of the cool parks because I didn't want to deal with holding my daughter back! Thanks everyone!
