A friend and I have a vacation planned for November. We are staying at POP for the first part and at the AKL CL for our last 2 nights. I will be arriving in Orlando the day before our vacation starts. I thought of going to Universal but with hotel & tickets, I don’t think it is worth it. I could stay there and just do City Walk but have kind of talked myself out of it.
So I an thinking of getting one night at WDW and am trying to decide between POFQ and one the the deluxe. I will not have park tickets. We were suppose to stay at the FQ on our first trip but we’re moved to PORS. I have stayed at WL and AK. Would like to try somewhere new. I will probable spend my time at Disney Springs and visiting other resorts. Would love to try Poly but I hear it needs a renovation.

So universal/city walk or WDW and which hotel? Thank you for any opinions ::MickeyMo

If you are going to DS, I agree with AllieBoo, you may just want to stay at POFQ. You may also want to consider one of the EP resorts. I prefer YC when traveling alone. It's quieter than the other EP resorts, IMHO, but you can walk around the Boardwalk, see the evening entertainment, etc. It's a fun place to spend an evening.

Thank you both. I had lunch at the YC years ago, very nice resort. I will look into it . Also hoping to have time to see the boardwalk.

Quick question: It has been years since my DW and I visited WDW, so sorry if this is a stupid question. We are staying at POFQ in September and will arrive about 5:00 PM. Our plan is to spend time relaxing that evening since we will be meeting our DD, SIL, and granddaughter for rope drop at MK early the next morning. We were interested in going to Disney Springs for some dinner and shopping (it was still WDW Village last we were there!), but are not big fans of using the busses. Is the boat transportation to DS free to resort guests? If not, is there now a parking fee at DS (we are driving down in our own car)? Just trying to plan the easiest option.
Thanks.

Yes, the boat is free.

Another option would be Boardwalk Inn, Swan/Dolphin, or Beach/Yacht Club, That would give you easy access to Boardwalk activities at night and you can see high fireworks from Studios and Epcot (if there are any in new Epcot show). If they revamp or continue the Illuminations Cruise from Yacht Club would be another option for an evening activity.

Another think you may want to look into for just the 1 night is the Disney Sprints partner hotels. The price may be lower than POFQ and some are walking distance to DS. B Resort usually hs some good specials.
