Where to stay at SSR?

Hello fellow disers. Tomorrow I will make my first reservation for our family as owners. This reservation will be at SSR using our developer points. My question is what section should we request. Can a specific building be requested. We are leaning towards the Springs section as our first choice and the Grandstand section for our second choice. Being close to the restaurants would be nice, and My wife and I like to enjoy a frosty beverage while watching the boys (12 & 14) go for a swim. The map shows a pool bar in both of these areas. Does anyone have any input in regards to these (or other) choices.

I have read that there can be some lenghty walks at SSR. The only parts we have seen is the area around the DVC preview center, including the main pool.

I think your requests as laid out in your post are just fine. You can request a specific building or room or just a list of preferred sections. You are not guaranteed to get your request, but the room assigners will usually try.

I believe you have the right appoach. Springs or Granstand will meet your needs just fine.

Personally, we like the Grandstand section the best. It's not a far walk to AP or the main pool. The Grandstand pool is a great size and has its own bar/refill station. It's also the first bus stop.

I would go with the springs or grandstand - if you get to reception when you check in and don't like where you have you can ask them if there are any rooms free anywhere else. They offered us a few and also changed us from a ground floor to a balcony as we have the baby and a patio wouldn't be a good idea. They really are very helpful if they can be!

We are stying here next month as first time DVC owners. What would be the nearest section to the dining and would this section be at the start or end of bus route or somewhere in the middle? I had requester Congress Park, but not sure if I should change that?

The springs would be the closest to dining and the main pool and the grandstand is first on and off the busses and only a short walk to the dining.
