What is the best area of this resort? Do only the alligator bayou rooms have the daybed?

The Alligator Bayou rooms have a pull down Murphy bed. In deciding whether you would like to stay in the mansions or AB, think about distance to amenities and bus stops. There is a lot of information on the POR thread, especially the FAQ's and maps at the beginning of the thread.

I'd book a preferred room or a building in Alligator Bayou as close to the preferred buildings as possible. It's a BIG resort, beautiful and spread out. I'd want to be as close to the main building/main bus stop as possible. We were building 26 which wasn't bad but I'd like closer if we went back.

I second that. Stay there all the time. Walk is one minute from room to drink stations and 3 minutes to the pool. (DON'T TELL ANYONE!!) Just don't stay near my room so your 2 year old keeps me up!!

:listen:

Just kidding...;)

We were in AB 26 too and I liked the location, mainly because it was close to west depot, which was never crowded. Reasonably close to main pool and very close to quiet pool. Longer walk to lobby and food court, but I was the only one who even went there (for coffee) since we did breakfast in the room and didn't use the main bus depot. If my kids were younger I would probably reserve a preferred room in 14 or 17.

We did get off at the west depot a few times and the walk was about equal to that at the main stop. When we were there it was nicer to wait at the main depot in the morning though because you were more likely to get a sitting spot on the bus, plus if the bus filled at the main depot (it went to French Quarter first, then POR main depot) it went straight to the parks. Not sure if they sent another bus to the other depots or if they just had to wait for the next one?
