We are going to Orland in March and looking for a place that would accomadate all six of us. I will probably have to book 2 rooms. Just wondering if anybody has any suggestions. We would like to stay in a deluxe resort.
Thanks in advance

We have the same situation and are considering a 2 bedroom villa at BWI or Beach Club. Or we could get a family suite at the All Stars or a cabin at Ft. Wilderness. We can't make up our minds so I guess we'll wait till the 2008 rates come out and decide then.

I would rent a 2 BR Villa at BCV or BWV. Go over to the DVC Rent board. It will be worth the money. Read the FAQ about renting points. I own DVC but have still rented points when I needed extra points.

I agree.

I agree. Plus you'll have the full kitchen, washer/drier and multi bath rooms. It is well worth the price for the space and extras.

No two bedroom villas at BWI. You'll need the BWVillas instead.

I agree about renting points for the 2 bedroom villa. Even though we love FtW cabins & have stayed there 3 times, I wd never recommend them for a family of 2 adults & 4 teens. Only 1 bathroom & 1 set of bunks, 2 double beds. In a 2 bedroom villa you'll have 2 queens, 1 sleep sofa & a king as well as 2 bathrooms.

I checked out the prices and it seems alot more expensive than staying in 2 rooms at say the Polynesan.

Depends on the resort and the type. Could be one king, two queens and a queen sleeper sofa (OKW and some dedicated two bedroom villas). Or one king, one queen, one double sleeper sofa and one queen sleeper sofa (all BWV, some dedicated two bedrooms at BVC and all lock offs except OKW).

You should check out the deluxe rooms at Boardwalk Inn. The rooms are quite large, sleep six in three queen beds and have the benefits of club level services - continental breakfast, snacks, evening canapes and desserts. With six in your party, a club level room may well be worth the extra cost. Other possibilities you might check out are junior suites at Wilderness Lodge (includes Club Level privileges) and junior suites in the garden wing at the Contemporary (don't think this includes Club level privileges).

Personally, renting DVC points doesn't make sense to me because the points required for weekends cost so much. The only way renting points really pays, IMO, is if you're willing to move to a cheaper hotel for Friday and Saturday nights. With a family of six, I can't imagine trying to move elsewhere for the weekends. If you do want to stay in a DVC two-bedroom, watch these boards for discounts -- AP rates, publicly available discount codes, and then book through CRO if you can get a discount.

what does club level privileges mean? Are their two baths in the junior suites?

Here is the layout of the BWI deluxe room deluxe room.
Sorry,it only has 1 bathroom.

WL also has a deluxe room that sleeps 6 and is also club level.

Did you check out the prices to rent from a DVC member or from Disney? There is a big difference. With that group I would want at least two bathrooms. If you have an AP you might be able to get some good rates at the DVC resorts such as SSR or OKW. Good Luck with you choice.
