I have barely been to CA, just checked out Bug's Land once last year. What is the parade route? Where is a good spot to stake our spot with our 3 yr old DS? Thank you!

It seems to be less crowded over toward Paradise Pier. The area in front of the Golden Dreams mural was one row deep at parade time.

Or grab a bench in front of the the corn dog place (cant think of the name) or Big Pink dinosaur. Then you can sit on the bench and I think only one row of seated people can be in front of you so you little one could sit down right in front..

Something we figured out last time was if you yell and scream a lot at the bug floats (you know the cute little ones that come up to the crowds) they will come to you!! We did this 3 times our last trip and each time they came right up to us. My kids were thrilled. Just things like "Hey" "Hi" "Yeah", nothing too over the top is needed

We asked a CM about this last summer and she suggested the area towards Paradise Pier in front of the "Golden Dreams" movie showcase theater. This is where we always sit now. It is less crowded and there are benches but also lots of room to sit on the ground too. My ds (3 in May) dances around - right in front of us- before the parade starts and puts on a pre-parade show for everyone. The past couple of times the parade has scared him a lot. He HATES those cute bugs that come up and make that noise and he also hates the steam that comes out of some of the floats. Up to recently he loved the EL Parade so hopefully it is just a phase he is going through right now!
