Where to sit when riding EE? other coasters?

We always try to hold out for front row on It's a Small World. I don't know that it goes any faster, but it sure seems like it does!

Not possible. Every train is moving at the exact same speed all the time. Now the back row will have a longer decent at a high speed, but it does not go faster for longer. When I was a teenager I used to always want the back row because of this logic and I laughed at the fools who waited longer for the front row. Now I am a front row or nothing person on most coasters. The view is the best, and since you are in the front you face the most wind resistance which makes it FEEL like you are going faster even though you are not.

My first sentence was poorly phrased, the last car is not the fastest, it spends a longer time at a higher speed. While the first car has already crested the hill the whole train is still going very slow, of course, the whole thing is going at the same rate. But seconds later the whole thing is starting to go quite fast. Before the last car even gets to the top it's going fast. At the same point in the trip, just before cresting the hill, the first car was still crawling up the hill at the speed of the chain pulling it. If you're a fan of riding in the first car I'm sure you've had the sensation of facing straight down the hill, waiting for the weight of the trailing cars to accelerate you down. Conversely, if you ride in the rear you've had the experience of accelerating while still facing the up slope. The last car hits speed at an earlier point on the track than the first.

Whew!
