OK, we're first-timers going to US soon. My boys (DH, DS12, DS17) will want the biggest thrill they can get out of every ride. Me? I will be proud of myself if I get on each ride once. (I did it at WDW so am going to try it here) So are there better areas to to sit on the rides? Seating areas to avoid? IS there a difference between Fire and Ice? Oh wise ones, give me some advice.

Well have you come to the right place................ lucky you, wish I was going back :(

Go on Jaws...... lf you are able to get into a row... FIRST, let one of your sons go in first....so he is sitting on the outer side of the boat... try for row 3, or 4 ( I think) If I'm wrong someone else will tell you..... but anyway, once it's over............. and you stop laughing ( which has been YEARS for us) you'll thank me!!!!! LOL

My sons loved fire and ice, I think they preferred Ice better. They liked Hulks takeoff, but again, preferred the other coaster. And they always wanted to be in the front car on everything!!! so that was the best seat!!!

Again, the jaws thing............ when you are standing in line looking at the boat, you want them to be on the LEFT side next to the edge!!!!!! :teeth:

Front row on everything.

Get to IOA early. I keep saying it over and over, and this is why. FOTL doesn't get you the front row. You wanna ride Hulk in the front? Get to the gate at 8am and wait. When the park opens, you run down the main drag, go left to Hulk, and get your front row ride.

Next is Spiderman, Back row. Why? Because if cheerleaders are behind you they'll scream your ears off.

Dr Doom, doesn't matter, 4 across.

Now run to Deuling Dragons and get front row rides. Wait will be about 10 minutes. Some people go here first, which is why the wait will be 10 minutes. In the afternoon it grows to 1 hour.

JPRA in the front, will get you soaked, but fun.

Early, Early, Early. Get to the gate at 8am.

I'm posting this message from LA (Los Angeles). Visited DL and DCA. I was at the gate at 8am, first in line, had a great time. Went on the Materhorn Bobsleds first, went twice, wait was walk on. Moderate crowds, weather was perfect, so the park was full, but bearable.

I prefer the front row of ice so that you can easily see the near-miss with the building and the last row if fire to feel the G forces. Front row of Hulk.

I know that there is a preferred row to Back to the Future to avoid your head banging the side or back, but I'm not sure. I think it's better to sit in the front so that your head doesn't bang the back, but maybe someone can confirm.

Have fun!

Not really up on the lingo shown at the above link, I do know that I will be squealing like a pig the entire ride- either one!
OK in layman's terms, is one scarier than the other? ( I am thinking I can get away with only riding one- the less scarey one if there is one- without my boys giving me too much grief.)

I would say that the front of ice is scarier because it looks like you are going to hit a building. The first few times I went on Dueling Dragons I was really scared and each time I wondered why I was riding again. I had that feeling when we were climbing the hill at the beginning of the ride. After the ride dropped I was fine and had a great time and kept wanting to go again. Only to be scared again. Now I just get a thrill at the beginning.

Maybe you could try the back row of fire. I wouldn't call it more scary, but the G forces pull your face down and it's a different feeling--kind of a weird sensation.

Why choose between fire and ice? Ride them both. When you get off there is a hallway for reride.

and barf bags for those of us who can't handle both back to back!!!! LOL....:p

Fire is rougher, but Ice does near-miss the castle wall. Both tracks are completely different, so they are two separate rides, in their own respects. Both are very fun.

Regarding BTTF ride, definitely try to sit in front, no matter how tall or short you are (I'm only 5' 4") and I still banged my head on the side of the car, but its not to be missed! Have a wonderful trip.:teeth:
