Where to Sell a Vitamix?

Hi all

I apologize if this is the wrong forum but everyone always seems so knowledgeable about this stuff! Anyway I received a Vitamix for Christmas from the business I work for and while I'm appreciative, it's not something I think I'll ever use enough to be worth it. I'm a young adult with student loans, car payments, and a wedding to pay for and I honestly would rather have that money go to something more useful to me.

So can anyone recommend a place to sell it? I live in kind of a rural area so Craigslist isn't exactly working! Is eBay worth it just for 1 item? I've never used it before. Or does anyone know of another site? Any help would be appreciated!

Wow, I think just about anyone would be envious of you getting a free Vitamix! Lucky you!

Before you do sell it, really be sure you won't get use out of it. I mean, be really sure. They are amazing and extremely versatile. Our Vitamix is easily one of the top two purchases we've ever made.

Are you into smoothies, margaritas (or other blended beverages), homemade pureed soups, hummus, nut butter, nut milk, etc? If not, then I suppose you're correct in that you wouldn't get enough use out of it. But, if you either enjoy making things from scratch for health purposes (such as eliminating processed foods from your diet) or just because it tastes fresher, I would reconsider before selling it. What do you think your opinion on a Vitamix might be a couple of years from now after you've been married a while or may/may not have kids? Would your opinion change?

We use our Vitamix every day, sometimes 3+ times per day. My husband only uses it to make whey protein smoothies (whey protein, homemade plain yogurt, fruit, spinach, chia seeds) but I use it for a variety of things...I've made almond milk, pureed butternut squash for recipes, pureed soups, make homemade "Frappuccino's", and a long time ago we even made a version of the Grand Marnier slushies from Epcot. The only other "best purchase ever" item we've purchased is our espresso machine which we also use daily! A Vitamix will last a lifetime, so if you ever use a blender at all for any reason, keep the Vitamix.

If you truly want to sell it, I think Ebay would be your best option...although I would bet you know someone personally who would love to buy it from you if you asked around.

I agree with the PP. They are so versatile and are something you might not want to spend your own money on later (although you might get one as a wedding gift;)). We use ours all the time - it is great for blending, pureeing and crushing ice. It is part blender and part food processor.

Unless you are Facebook friends with your boss or whoever made the decision to give them to employees, I would post a message on FB that you have one to sell. I probably wouldn't do eBay as a new user because the person who bought it could say it was broken, not as described, etc., plus you would need to pay the fees for selling it.
