Where to rent a house after Disney?

We are going to stay at Disney for one week at POR .
We would like to rent a house for 6 adults and 2 kids to enjoy
a little more of Florida the week after Disney....like Sea World, Shopping, Universal Studios etc..We would like to rent a house for 6 nights
Do we need to be somewhere like Windsor Hills or would some where (to a max of 30 min away from Disney) , Be oK?

Any suggestions please!!!!!

Personally, I would check www.vistacayrent.com. It's an upscale, gated complex that is adjacent to the Convention Center off Universal Blvd. (runs more or less parallel to International Drive but is much faster since it has less traffic). They have everything from condos (1, 2, or 3 bedrooms) to 3 story townhouses (3BR/3BA, I think).

I believe Vista Cay was built by the same builders as Windsor Hills. They have wonderful amenities and are very nice. The location would be great for what you want to do.

You can send out a request for quotes on the site I mentioned. Some will be higher but some will give you good offers (I had a quote for $600 for Thanksgiving week last year for a 3BR).

What do you plan to do? What type of property do you want?

If you want a home with a private pool, they are located in certain areas (but not next to Universal/Seaworld etc). If a townhome or condo is what you want, then you can find something closer.

If you plan to go to Universal Studios, how long do you want to spend driving? If you are staying in a home in the Formosa Gardens area (Windsor Hills, Windsor Palms, Emerald Island, Rolling Hills etc), which are some of the closest to WDW, you would still be driving approx 25 mins to Universal. (Its an easy drive ). If you were 30 mins from WDW, then you would be driving further to Universal.

Personally, I would stay in a home with a pool in the Formosa Gardens area as part of the vacation to us is having a pool outside our back door. (But then I would also prefer to stay in a home instead of staying onsite at WDW).
