Is there any place in the parks that I would be able to recharge my evc? Most evc don't last beyond 6-8 hrs from what I've read. What does everyone do to recharge while they are still at the parks?

You won't be using your ECVs batteries waiting in lines, watching parades, sitting in the shows, riding the attractions, eating lunch, watching the fireworks or just enjoying the sun. Most ECVs will easily last a day in the parks, possibly two. It is possible that once in a while one of the rental companies will let one with an old tired battery slip out (like auto batteries, they give up eventually). The rental company will bring you a replacement immediately. Disney are very good, and even if you rent off-site rather than one of their own, they will find a way to keep you mobile.

If you are really anxious, take your charger with you- but I doubt you will ever use it outside of your room. There are power outlets everywhere in the parks if you look for them. When you stop for lunch, choose a table near an outlet.

The only people who need to recharge in the parks are those who forgot to recharge overnight.

::yes::
The batteries not lasting all day is the exception rather than the rule.

If you are worried, take along the charger like Andrew suggested. You can ask a CM about where to find an outlet. There is a link in the disABILITIES FAQs thread to an old thread about how to find outlets.

You probably won't run out of juice IF you remembered not only to plug your transformer IN, but also TURN IT ON! (been there done that)

It is usually possible to find a plug in near restaurant lobbies, outdoor food carts, and even standing outlets tucked in shrubbery near benches. The CMs don't always know - but a cleaning cm will (for the vacuum cleaner). I even found one in the landscaping near the lakeside seating area behind Flame tree barbecue.

Just so people are not looking for ON and OFF buttons that are not there, not all transformers have to be turned on to use.
Check the transformer for your device to make sure.

Believe me I have been in this boat when my ECV was unplugged one night because a little guy wanted to play with it, unbeknownst to me, and he did not plug it back in... :eek: Then the following visit I had dud batteries that had to be replaced...

Also if you go out really early and stay really late, then you may need a recharge... depending on how many miles you put on your ECV and if you are riding flat or doing a lot of inclines, etc.

I can tell you that there are plugs in all of the restrooms, and sometimes beside them.

If you look at the base of the big silver light poles, most of them have plugs... some have little silver covers over the plugs that are on a hinge that flip up.

Many restaurants also have plugs, where you can put your ECV during lunch or dinner.

Do not attempt to use the plug at the Garden Grill... The floor moves... the plug does not... :lmao: (I did not use the plug... but my bf thought about asking to plug it in until I pointed this out to him)

Do not use the plugs at Fantasmic as there could be power surges due to the show.... and in that same thread, if you feel that you may have to plug your ECV in at the parks, you may want to carry a surge protector with extension because sometimes the plug is located beside or next to an object that cannot be moved or in an inconvenient place to park... Just ensure that the cord is not in a walk pathway where it can be tripped over...

Chances are you will not have to recharge while in the parks, but if you do it can be done.

Take care.
