I know that strollers aren't often allowed in the restaraunts at WDW. I have a 5 month old who doesn't sit up on his own so a high chair will not work for him. I will bring a bjorn but I don't exactly like eating when I have him in it for fear that I will spill something on him! What have you all done in the past? This is really worrying me!

Hi, there is a current thread on this topic and I'll post the link. Most people take their stroller with baby right to the table (we did! and we had a double stroller/twins....). And someone said there are baby highchairs in the restaurants, which I didn't know about. Here is the thread:

I have a related question I hope some of you experts can help answer...at what age have your kids moved from the high chair to the booster seat? Our daughter sits relatively still when eating in a high chair, but when she's done, she's done and wants out to wiggle. We're afraid that when she reaches this point in a booster seat, we'd be asking for more hassles than it's worth.

So, when have you been successful moving your kids up to the booster seat?

Thanks!

When we were there in August, I saw a lot of parents with strollers at their table.

My kids sat in a booster seat right from the beginning. We have never used the high chair with them (except when eating out in restaurants) and it has worked out really well for us. We have the Safety 1st booster seat that reclines, and has a tray.

Thanks! I was specifically referring to eating out at WDW restaurants as we don't want to learn we tried the booster seat too early the hard way.

We left ours in a high chair for as long as possible. It kept them contained, LOL. We didn't use boosters too much in Disney. We sort of went from high chairs to booths where they could be on their knees. Some of the chairs at restaurants don't have the side arms and so the booster seat is hard to keep on the chair. I can't remember which restaurant, but we tried using a booster and our child fell off the side. She was fine, just a little scared. :)

Thanks, hadn't thought about sliding off the chairs.

We always took the stroller to the table until he could sit in a high chair. The only restaurant that we found that had an infant high chair was the Garden Grill.

Wow, those of you that were able to bring strollers right to the table were lucky. I asked at every restaurant we went to last month and they all said no :( So we had to keep DD on our lap....didn't make TS restaurants a whole lot of fun.....

It might have to do with how busy they are. We usually go during a less busy time of year. We never had any problems bringing the stroller in when ds was asleep. By his 1st trip he was old enough to sit up so if he was awake we used a high chair for him (they usually have the ones that don't have a tray and slide right up to the table). If I recall correctly some of the restaurants also have the boosters that sit right on the chair but IMO those are worthless. DS wouldn't sit still in them long and they were just more trouble than they were worth. I'm glad he's big enough now that he doesn't really need one any more.

We brought our stroller in every restaurant we went to in August and we were there for 10 days of free dining. Although not at Chef Mickeys because they had infant seat high chairs so she could get up to the table with us. It never hurts to ask if they know they can't sit up in the High chair they are very accomodating I just explained it was too difficult and she was unable to hold herself up in the high chair.

Before our son could sit properly in a high chair we were very fortunate enough to be able to use our stroller in almost all of the table service restaurants we went to. The only place where we had an issue was at San Angel Inn. We just sucked it up, and put him in a a high chair, but padded it with sweatshirts, and purses.

We took DS at 3 months and 5 months and we were able to bring the high chair in everywhere. Liberty Tree, Le Cellier, Ohana, Prime Time, Whispering Canyon etc. Hopefully you won't have any issues. Our stroller (mac Quest) was smaller though.

We took DD (who is now 3.5 yo) when she was 4 mo old and were able to bring the stroller into every restaurant with no problems.

About the booster seat question, we kept DD in a highchair as long as possible. She stopped using them around April or May of this year, so she was just shy of 3. We never really used booster seats. They were more of a pain than any help. DD, who isn't much of a wiggler, always managed to tip over in them if she leaned to get something or moved.

For those of you who were allowed to bring your stroller in, what size was it? Umbrella stroller or more like the travel system kind you can put a baby car seat into?

We brought in our Graco travel system stroller when my son was 3 months old. We just had the stroller with us, not the carrier part.

The stroller that we took to our table for meals was the Graco Duo Glider. It was really long, but it fit nicely along side our table. I posted above too, but just wanted to note again that we normally went to WDW at slower times and it was never an issue to take our stroller to the table. In fact, the host/hostess often asked us if we wanted to before we had a chance to ask. It bears repeating that our babies were normally sleeping in the stroller when we went to restaurants. We normally gave the babies their bottles and then laid them down in the stroller and they fell asleep, so we'd hustle right to a sit-down restaurant for a nice, quiet meal!! ;)
