We are planning Chef Mickeys for dinner on our first day (a non-park day for us) and since we will be so close to the MK would like to purchase our tickets so we can go commando in the AM without stopping to buy them.

Should we park at TTC and buy our tickets, then take the monorail to the Contemporary for dinner? Can we even park at Contemporary for dinner? If we do, can we leave the car there and take a monorail ride to purchase tickets at the TTC? Can tickets be purchased at the gate of MK?

Sorry so many questions, not even sure if this is the right board for this!

Thanks much
Lynn

You should buy them ahead of time.

ticketmania.com has great deals that include shipping and tax!

Just remember to photocopy the front and backs of each card, leave 1 copy at home with someone, and bring the 2nd copy with you, just incase.

You can save A LOT of money by buying them ahead of time...dont pay gate price!!!

I'd agree with Brandy and advise you to purchase beforehand.

If you really want to wait until you're on property though:

If you're NOT staying at a Disney resort, park at the Contemporary. You'll be allowed to park if you have a priority seating, and it'll be free. You'd have to pay to park at the TTC. I should imagine you wouldn't have any problems riding the resort loop to get to the TTC.

If there is a problem (I've heard they might ask for ID, but usually it's only during peak times, and Extra Magic Hour), and they won't let you ride the resort loop, there's a walkway to the Magic Kingdom. You can take a stroll down there (I think it's a 10-15 minute walk). You won't be able to purchase tickets at the Magic Kingdom gate, but you can ride the express monorail to the TTC, and purchase your tickets. Then you could get back on the express monorail, and walk back to the contemporary from the Magic Kingdom.

If you ARE a Disney resort guest, just buy your tickets at checkin!!!! They can put them on your room key, and you can avoid the whole transportation mess! :)

I'd love to purchase beforehand, but we are buying FL resident passes and will need to show our IDs to purchase that kind of ticket. Sounds like parking at the CR is the way to go, we will have a PS for Chef Mick's....I have never been asked for ID to ride Disney transportation (I'm not doubting that it happens though! :) ), so we could just plan on taking the resort loop....now the resort monorail stops at the TTC, I presume?

Thank you for your replies!

It sure does. :) It runs the OPPOSITE direction of the express monorail. After boarding at the Contemporary, the TTC will be the first stop. On the way back to the Contemporary, you'll make a stop at the Polynesian, The Grand Floridian, The Magic Kingdom, and then back to the Contemporary.

Have a GREAT trip! :)
