Hi. Can anyone recommend a grocery store that we can stop at on the way to WDW? I was hoping someone will know of one that isn't overpriced like Kroger or Farmer Jack- Maybe something like a Meijer or a Super Wal-mart. Please make sure it is easy to find for us, this will be our first time to Orlando since we were kids. Thanks!

There is a publix on I-192 which is pretty close to disney. If you go further down I-192 there is a target and walmart down by where Medieval times is.

Thanks- are they visible from the road (or are there signs?) Do you know if the Wal-mart has groceries (including produce, or at least bananas)? :flower:

192 has signs mile markers that are big enough to see. At the interchange of I-4 and 192 it is around mile marker 5 and medieval times is about mile marker 11. yes this walmart has produce/food. it is a grocery/department store. If you would like, I can get the exact directions for you. I need to look at my i-192 map and it is home and I am at work. I will post tomorrow with better directions. It is not hard to find.

Wow, thanks so much. I'll try looking it up right now, and if I can't find it and you wouldn't mind, that would be great!

I can't determine which one it is by the maps on yellowpages.com- do you happen to know the city of the top of your head? I tried Lake Buena Vista when I did the search and it came up with a couple in Kissimmee, one in Orlando, and som others that were getting farther away. Thanks again!

If you take Hwy 192 West there is a Winn Dixie. I don't like travelling Hwy 192 East because of very heavy traffic. It is not that far in distance but traffic congestion makes the trip take a long time. We have never had trouble going west. The WD will be on your left. Return to WDW resort area is easy from 192 west, stay in the right hand lane and follow the signs.

I think there is a grocery off they Buena Vista exit from I-4 too. Anyone know about that? From the grocery you can get directions and go on the back rds without getting back on I-4. If you want Walmart, look for one on Sand Lake Rd. It will be a little farther north of the resort area but you can travel the side rd (I think it is always Sand Lake Rd) north and south from Walmart to the resort area. It runs paralled with I-4.

OK, I was WRONG! Call the one on So. Kirkman Rd. It intersects w/ Sand Lake Rd so that must be the one I am thinking of.
Kirkman runs parallel w/ I-4 and Sand Lake runs perpendicular. Call that store directly to see if they can give you driving directions from WDW resorts.

The one on Hwy 192 East is closest but don't know if it is easier to get to.

I have read other discussions here in the past about which one of these walmarts were easiest to get to.

I stopped at SuperTarget off from 417 at exit 11 on the way to Disney. Even with road construction, it was easy to get to. Be sure to have 50 cents exact change to get off 417.

2155 Town Center Blvd, Orlando (407) 251-5133
Orange Blossom Trail & Town Center Blvd.
Located just south of 417 at exit 11.
NOTE: you need 50 cents exact change to get off @ Orange Blossom Trail.

SuperTarget- I didn't know it was a SuperTarget!!! Why can't we live in the south- we don't even have a Super Wal-mart near us, the closest one is over an hour away, and we live in a very busy area... I wanted to go to the SuperTarget in Knoxville, TN when I was down there but they were closed :( That was the first time I had ever heard of them. I'm goin' to SuperTarget on my vacation! Yippee!!!

Most groceries are usually a little cheaper at Super Walmart than Super Target, though the Super Target near me has a few more gourmet type items and a better bakery and deli area.

I looked at the map of 192 (which is also called Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway). if you go I-4 get off 192 so that you are heading towards medieval times and arabian nights, mile marker numbers going up. I don't remember if it is west or east. If you begin going the wrong way it is very easy to turn around. You are between mile marker 7 and 8 at this intersection. Walmart is right past medieval times which is at mile marker 14 (not 11 like I posted incorrectly). It is on the same side as medieval times (which is on the right). There is another walmart on sand lake road but this one is closer to Universal not disney. 192 does get congested. There is also a publix which is on the way to walmart on 192 but it would be on your left side very close to the I-4/192 intersection.

Walmart is Hwy 192 EAST. We use to get lost in this area all the time. Thank goodness we have been going about every 6 mo's so we can learn our way around!!! LOL! What better reason to go to WDW?

There's also a Winn Dixie on 535 west of I-4. Maybe 1/2 mile or so. You'll pass the CrossRoads shopping center that has a Goodings food store but their prices were high imho.
