Where to park your RV while staying at WDW resorts?

I'm hoping someone can answer my question about RV rules & parking.

My husband and I are considering buying an RV. We drove from NJ with the kids this past Oct and stayed in a Cabin at the Fort. I love the idea of driving to Disney in our own RV and possibly staying the night in a campground on the way.

We also loved the Ft. Wilderness and would like to stay there again however we also like doing split stay's at other resorts (BCV's...etc).

Question: If we move to the Beach Club Villa's can we park our RV in their parking lot? I imagine there must be rules regarding this?
Anyone knowing any info is appreciated! :)

We stayed at SSR one time and was able to park the RV in the resort lot. We were told that as long as the resort isn't too crowded and there was room in the lot then we didn't have an issue.
It worked out perfectly for us. As we went with my entire side of the family, it became DH's escape pod. When he had enough of my pain in the behind Dsis he bolted out to the RV for a little quiet time. Smart man!! :goodvibes

Many, many years ago we could park the RV at OKW but when that was nixed they had parking at PO. At SSR there is enough room so you park where they tell you just like other resorts.

OKW is the only resort that cannot accomodate RV parking. If you bring an RV to OKW, then they will park it over at POFQ for you.

We were at FW back in November. At that time, we noticed a large parking lot right in front of the check in lanes for the campground. There were RVs, trailers, and car tow dolleys parked in there. I am thinking you might be able to leave your RV there and take a bus over to your resort and then back to the parking lot to pick up your camper when you are ready to leave for home. I would see if someone at Disney could confirm that.

That lot is for guests of Fort Wilderness. Guests are allowed only one vehicle at their site, so guests that have extra vehicles have to park them out front. There is also a lot nearby known as the "overflow" lot. That lot is for day guests to park to visit the Hoop De Doo, restaurants, trading posts, horse back rides, etc. The campers and motorhomes you saw parked there were most likely guests that have just arrived for their vacation and have not moved to their site yet, OR guests that have checked out of their site and will be leaving the area later that evening. The trailers and car dollies are for guests staying at the campground that don't want to leave those items at their site. All vehicles staying OVERNIGHT at the overflow lot must have a parking pass on the vehicle.

On occasion IF YOU ASK the folks at the front desk and explain the situation, they "may" give you a parking pass and allow you to leave your RV in the lot. However, all of the resorts except for Old Key West can accomodate your RV in their lot, so just drive it over there and park it there. Not a problem!!!

We were @ SSR last New Years and there was a motorhome in the parking area there, there was plenty of parking even for a crowded week not to sure about where you will be staying.

On a completely different note if you have not already purchased a motor home may I suggest renting one first and doing a test drive down. It might seem expensive but better to do a test drive then be out the money for an RV.

There was a motorhome in the lot at POP when we were there early Dec. In fact, it had the generator running early one morning and the TV antenna was up for several days. Couldn't believe they'd let someone stay there tho and I never noticed any lights when we'd come back at night. Maybe just running the generator for a bit to charge batteries or have coffee in the am. while others in the room sleep.
