Just did a drive by at Vista and there is nowhere to park. Where do you park your car to begin lining up for check-in?

Thanks.

1) they are going to enforce the "no lining up early" finally. 7am is the earliest.

2) there is a small gated lot across the street from the Vista Way entrance that they may let people use.

3) There isn't any real reason to go line up early. I never did and never had an issue. My friends arrived after 9 too and didn't have an issue. There is this "fear" that seems to propagate and I can't quite figure it out. They have plenty of spots for everyone and there will be plenty of options available.

I know there are going to be people who going to disagree with me on this. That is OK. I just see no real reason to be so scared that one won't have any options that they give up sleep and breakfast for that.

And to add, if you get there after 9, then you can drive inside and park by the pavilion where check in is. Then when you get your assignment and easily head back to your car. Much better than leaving it behind and having to walk back.

Just kind of curious how you know that they will enforce the "no lining up early", and how do you think they will enforce it. Thanks.

They sent out a big warning email about it to everyone who is in the program and said they would be enforcing it. I would believe it.

Haha I hope they start enforcing that rule, but I don't see how they're going to stop people from lining up. If they don't let them line up at the gate then they'll just wait at Walgreens or the gas station and gradually creep closer as time passes and more people show up.... but one can wish... :lmao:

When I checked in I just parked at The Walgreens and walked to the gate. After I got my parking sticker I just moved it right into Vista.

There are two reasons why I feel it may be advantageous to get to check in early. 1: How soon you complete check in affects how quickly you go to casting and when your housing introduction, where you learn rules and regulation, is. That allows you to have more time to go to Walmart and buy some essentials, or just explore. 2: If you have a very specific housing request it may not be available if you we to show up later. For example I wanted to move into a 2br apartment in Vista where everyone would be showing up that day and I managed to snag the last available one.

If neither of those reasons matter to you then, like the previous poster said, there is absolutely no need to get there early and stress yourself out.

I'm guessing Walgreen's isn't open early enough for them to care? It does matter (and least I think it probably does) as he's reqesting a 1 bedroom at Patterson. Thanks for the insight.

That's a 24 hour open Walgreens.

I'm very curious to see how this turns out....I really don't want to have to line up at 2AM if I get accepted so I'm hoping it works.
