Where to park for Downtown Disney

We will be arriving on a Monday but not going into the parks until Tuesday. If we get there early enough to I'd like to go check out DTD. Where do you go to park for that and how much is it?

Downtown Disney has it's own lot- when you are on the road to Mickey and Friends parking structure you will see signage for Downtown Disney. Parking is free for the first 3 hours.

Just to add on, 3 hours free, 2 hours more with validation from certain DTD and Hotel locations.

Going up(north on Disneyland dr. is going to be easier than southbound, but coming from either location the entry is about halfway between the M&F garage and DLH.

Does DTD stay open later than the parks? Both parks will be closing at 8pm for my dates in September. I looked on the Disney site but couldn't actually find hours for DTD.

Later than 8pm, yes. Though there is a lot of variation in when the stores and dining closes so there is no definitive answer.
