Where can I look to find out the value of some Home Interior things? One was tea set that I got with merits and the others things were purchased a very long time ago,(pictures, etc).Any help would be great. Thanks

Ebay is a good starting place. Also, if there is a company name or something on them, you can Google it plus the words tea set. Different word scenarios may bring up more info. I Google just about anything I am trying to find out about. From finding parts for the lawn mower to swimming pool maintenance! I don't know what I ever did without it. Good luck!

Are you looking for the value so that you can sell or to claim on insurance or what?

No,I am thinking of selling some of these things that I've had put away and never used.I know that people are selling gold and some are silver, but I'd like to know something about the value before I sell anything or not.The things like pictures, etc, are things that some have been used and some not,and I know value depends on alot of things.I may change my mind and keep everything,or part,or all or nothing.I know that things that have never been used should be worth more (doesn't mean it really will be).I know that these things are sure not going to make anyone rich, but at the same time,I wouldn't want to sell anything that wasn't worth what I sell it for.I know most things are over 20 years old and you can not get them now,but still that doesn't always mean alot.I have the tea set packed in a "hope chest" and who knows,it more than likely silver plated and not all silver, but I remember it took alot of merits to get it.Anyway,I am in no way looking to sell it on this boards because I know things like that can not be done.I really would just like to know how to look up their value, and thank you all for you help and I will use everything you all have posted. Thanks again for all your help.

well, don't look at me cuz I sold a bunch of items really cheap at my last yard sale. I'm talking $3 for large pictures and down from there. Lady thought I was crazy and bought all of it. I was just glad it was gone !

I agree with checking on ebay. But what's important is what things are SELLING for, not what they're LISTED for. Click on advanced search just under the search box on the main page. On the next page type your item in (you might have to try it several different ways) and check the 'completed listings only' box. That will show you if your item is selling and for what price.

You items are only worth what someone will pay for it. If it's sentimental, then it's worth might be more TO YOU...and you will want to keep it.

It's sort of like the housing market right now! :rotfl:

I was just getting ready to sell a lot of mine at my garage sale, I had no idea people still bought it.
