A friend got a job offer in Las Vegas and has begun house hunting. But she doesn't know areas to look in. She has 2 kids - 7 and 3. Needs good school district. Low crime. Etc.

Please help!

Thanks!!

My best friends aunt lives in Henderson (10 minutes away from the Strip). We stayed with her a few years back and it's a really nice community - it's really on the rise as well. Definately look there. :)

When we were in Vegas west or south were the best areas. Summerlin is one of the best parts of town, as well as Green Valley and Henderson.

We really enjoyed the time we lived in Vegas and I hope your friend does too.

Gotta agree with Longsx3. Summerlin is top notch, Henderson is really nice too along with Green Valley. Beautiful homes in planned communities and low taxes and cost of living is still pretty reasonable. I looked to relocate to Vegas a few years back and did a ton of research.

Schools in Nevada are sort of a work in progress. They are good schools, very new and modern, but often lack quality teachers. It's a very transient society in the Vegas area with a lot of new people moving in and just about as many moving out each month.

If you really want to get away from the "Vegas feel" try Boulder City, where there is no gambling and I think might have restricted liquor sales, etc.
