As we're off to DW next Christmas, I'd like to book a really special Christmas dinner while we are there. Characters would be a bonus for our 2 DD's. Can anyone recommend where to go. Alternatively, I was thinking of surprising everyone until the day and booking Discovery Cove on Christmas Day if I can get in.
Any thoughts or experiences much appreciated.

We went to 1900 Park Fare on Christmas Day this year, a good selection of food and Cinderella, the mice and Prince Charming in attendance. I ummed and arred for ages over Discovery Cove for our 3, but as it turned out they weren't really bothered, and the weather would have been awful in the afternoon so I was glad I didn't. I'd only book Discovery Cove early on in a Christmas Holiday IF you have the option of shifting to another day if the weather forecast is not good.

Just returned!!! We had Christmas day dinner at the California Grill - took our DD7 & she enjoyed it. We didn't book until 7.30pm and managed to see the Magic Kingdom fireworks at 9pm from the window (we had a window seat). It was great. Not rushed at all.
While there we also went to Chef Mickey's for tea and all enjoyed that. Lots of character interaction.:cheer2:

just returned we had christmas dinner at ohana's it was great so laid back and the children are able to join in with the entertainment i really enjoyed it i'ddo the same xmas 2008.

Got back yesterday and did Christmas Day at Discovery Cove.

Yes, the weather was bad - there was torrential rain from about 1pm onwards (just after DD and DS completed their dolphin swim) but we all agreed that we would rather be dressed in wetsuits in the rain that trying to navigate our way around a packed theme pack in such horrendous conditions. It really did not spoil our enjoyment of the day although DH was not too impressed when his chocolate cake was washed off his tray as we looked for somewhere to eat our lunch but it will be a Christmas Day to remember!

We ate at Boma's in the evening which was great with the added bonus of seeing the animals on the savannah afterwards.

We went to CP for our xmas dinner with a 1pm PS. The usual pooh characters were there and as it's a carvery type lunch, we were able to create the typical Brit xmas lunch. The park was reasonably Ok up until lunch time. It got very crowded around lunchtime. We went on 8 rides including SM before lunch. The atmosphere was wonderful.

We are looking at the same thing as should be there from 13th dec for 3 weeks and thought about DC christmas day as a treat :)

Was it busy on that day?

That's what i thought. Figured that as it only lets 1000 people in per day that it would be a nice relaxed extra special day, rather than plough our way through packed parks. It would certainly be a Christmas day to remember. Might see you there if you go! If we don't go to DC then I imagine we'll spend the day at Animal kingdom and head over to Epcot for the evening.
