WHILE WE ARE AT DISNEY WORLD WE WILL BE CELEBRATING OUR 16TH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY. WE HAVE NEVER HAD A HONEYMOON AND THIS TRIP, ALTHOUGH WITH OUR CHILDREN AND BROTHER IN LAW AND SISTER IN LAW, IS REALLY LIKE A HONEYMOON TRIP FOR US. WE HAVE NEVER BEEN ON A TRIP QUITE THIS EXPENSIVE! YIKES! HA! ANYWAY, WHAT COULD I PLAN FOR MY HUSBAND AS A SURPRISE. WHERE IS THE REHITCHING CEREMONY? THANKS FOR YOUR HELP, I WANT THIS TO REALLY SPECIAL AND MEMORABLE.

the re-hitchin' ceremony is at the garden grill at the land in epcot. it is a character meal and served family style. we have done it twice and each time it is fun. happy anniversary to you all!:p

If you want something a little more romantic/magical, try Cinderella's Royal Table for dinner and schedule around the time that fireworks will be displayed. Request a table by the window. They pipe in the music from the fireworks. VERY romantic...

Oh, and wherever you go TELL them it's your anniversary. You MAY get a free dessert or something. (This is not always the case, but it doesn't hurt to say something).

Congratulations!

the Rose & Crown during Illuminations at EPCOT is our choice for a romantic anniv. dinner. In fact, we will be celebrating our 14th anniv. there in a couple of weeks!

For true romance, I think you need to leave the parks to avoid families (I have 4 girls and family dinners seldom involve romance). Arthur's 27 in the Wyndham Palace provides great views of the fireworks at MK. They have a coupon in the Entertainment book that can help control the cost.

How about the California Grill? Last time we went, it was getting expensive, but if you book your meal for just after the fireworks at MK, you can watch those on the balcony outside just before eating - and they pipe the music out there as well. We think it's the best view of the MK fireworks you can get.

I couldn't agree more about telling them it's your anniversary. I went to the California Grill for my birthday and they brought me out a special "Happy Birthday" dessert, but they had to box it up for me, so I could eat it the next day, as I was full by then! ;)

If you are willing to 'splash out the $' you could try Victoria and Alberts at the Grand Floridian.

The food is incredible and prepared to perfection, the staff are exclusive and I very highly reccomend it for a romantic, altough $$$$$$$ dinner.

Have fun deciding!

:p I have to agree with tonilea R&C for on the patio for Illuminations. My wife and i celebrated our 23rd anniv. there on 9/15/02 and it was sooooo nice. We had a PS for 7:30 and stopped by the kiosk around 3:00 to inquire about a patio table. Even though the girl said they couldn't guarantte a patio table she filled out a seating card with our names and ANNIVERSARY in large letters. We ended up with the best table on the patio as Illuminations was directly in front of us. They gave us a small bottle of champagne and the food was excellent. My wife had the prime rib ($18.99) and i had the fish & chips ($14.99). We split it up and both were excellent. It was very romantic and we had a great night, basically the staff at R&C made it perfect for us. I would eat there again in a heart beat.

Good luck on whatever you decide.

Wherever you decide to go, make sure to tell them that you're celebrating your Anniversary when you make your priority seating. And mention it to your server when you get there. :)

PS... when you type with all capitals, it is considered shouting.

Artist Point at Wilderness Lodge would be an excellent choice for an anniversary dinner. It's a little less expensive than V&A's, but the service is very good. The wait staff are attentive, but not obtrusive, so you can have a lovely dinner without feeling like they are just waiting to slap you with the bill. They seem well educated about the menu and wine list so they make some great suggestions.

AP is romantic but casual. It is in Wilderness Lodge, but somehow they manage to keep the atmosphere quiet and calm. Wonderful place for a fantastic dinner!

Have you considered Jiko at AKL? The food is truly wonderful. Definitely on a par with California Grill. The setting is elegant, the food and wines delicious. And sitting outside around the fire on Arusha rock, or looking out at the Savannah in the moonlight is very romantic.

Where are you staying? Do you have a villa or accomodations with a kitchen? There are two Personal Chefs that service the Orlando area - if you were able, this would make a very cool romantic dinner for two. Take a look at the Orlando Services Page at www.orlandotripplanner.com and look under Chef Services. They also do "picnic baskets" for private meals on the beach at the hotels, or by the pool, etc...
