Can someone recommend somewhere to go in Falmouth? We are not fans of excursions (in our opinion the groups are huge and we spend a lot of time waiting around...) Is there somewhere beautiful in Jamaica or a must see we could go to? Looking for something more on the relaxing side. We've done Jamaica a few times and we are doing the same itinerary now 3 cruises in a row.... Anything much appreciated!!

Why are you posting this on a Disney Cruise forum instead of the RCL?

Are you looking to stay in Falmouth area? My sister just did a beach there and said it was nice and relaxing but overall she did not like that port compared to Ocho Rios. The beach was pretty much all cruise line guests and was a cab ride from the dock.

In my opinion Falmouth is a place an excursion would be worth it. We went to Blue Hole which again imho is something definitely to experience. We went on a private tour with Liberty Tours and they asked us where we wanted to go and waited on us. They gave us loads of info on the way to and from Blue Hole as we stopped at shops, restaurants and beaches along the way. One of the best excursions we experienced in the caribbean and definitely a good value for what we experienced.

I've tried 3 excursions there. You might consider "Rafting on the Martha Brae" which is scenic, extremely relaxing, and only takes half a day. The bus ride is also only 20 minutes or so. At one point, I avoided it after reading some very negative reviews from guests who had been harassed by angry guides on the rafts after they refused to buy their goods. However, as long as you bring $20 in cash to buy whatever carved coconut they sell, you won't have any problems. I knew it would come up and just considered part of the cost from the time that I booked. At the end of the excursion, they will stop at some church in Falmouth. Our guides hinted to us that we didn't have to stop if we'd rather go back to the ship and, fortunately, everyone in the bus agreed to the latter. If I were to go again, I would approach a few of the other guests and suggest skipping the church. I haven't been there, but I read in reviews that there is very little to see aside from pushy street vendors. With these notes in mind, I would definitely recommend this excursion: the rafting itself takes about an hour and was so quiet and peaceful.
