Where to go for the best steak

I'm not huge on steak, but DW is a dedicated carnivore and loved her meal at STK. I don't recall what my entree was(lamb?) but everything was very good.

How loud is it in there?? I've seen a few reviews from folks who said the music was unbearable---

Curious about that too. I prefer to enjoy my steak (or other nice meal) in a quiet, relaxed atmosphere.

Well there is a DJ, I believe he started at 6 or 6:30. We had an early ADR at 5:15 or 5:30, so we had a head start with our meal. When the DJ started, the music was pretty tame and not too loud. I'm guessing it gets louder and more intense as the evening goes on. I'm with you and OKW Lover, much prefer a quieter atmosphere for dinners. I liked STK, and I'd return for an early ADR. I'd pass on dining there otherwise.

We really enjoyed Yachtsman when we went. Our sons (late teens at the time) still rave about their steaks. Atmosphere is pretty good too and it isn't crowded/loud, which is a common complaint I hear about Le Cellier. The steak at Narcoossee's was good too, but there are many more options at Yachtsman. Although all/most of the signature restaurants will serve a pretty good steak, I'd probably say Yachtsman is the best option for a steak at Disney (that is also on the dining plan). Haven't been to STK though. Last I heard, the sides are STK are not covered by your dining plan credits, so you'll have to use two credits plus pay for your sides. Not sure if that is still the case, but if so then Yachtsman seems a better deal since sides (and a dessert) are included.

Which is a puzzle to me--why on earth would you have a DJ and music at what is calling itself a high end steakhouse???

It's strange, right? Probably some marketing genius who believes that people will stay after dinner to drink & dance? Like at V&A's where they push back all the chairs & pump up the volume after 10pm???:earboy2:

We are Shula's fans and go there every trip.
However, we were so impressed with STK at Disney Springs that we actually went there TWICE in November.
STK and Shula's are on our must do list for every WDW visit.

Was the music loud when you were there? How late in the evening were you there?

We had ADRs around 8 pm. Yes, the music was loud and we're not hip hop fans but the food is so good it's not a deal breaker for us. (We also got our server to ask the DJ to play some old school disco and HiNRG for us!)

We just got back Saturday from Disney. I had a steak at Jiko,Artist Point, California Grill & LeCellier.
All of them were excellent.
I'd put Jiko as first place. It was fork tender & I loved the flavor.
Artist Point 2nd place ... but California Grill & LeCellier were a close tie.

I am jumping out of the box here. The best steak I have had was last week at Tiffins. Holy melt in your mouth!!!

I have had the steak at YSH, LC, Narcoossees, and with the exception of LC, I enjoyed them all. The atmosphere is different in every restaurant.

If I had one meal I could choose, I would choose to go back to Tiffins.

Good grief--hip-hop music. Now I am certain we won't go.

It's not my cuppa tea either UncleR, but I will say when we were there early in the evening it was pretty much background music. I'm not recalling any hard core hip hop, seems like it was more R&B, maybe a bit dancey.

This venue may be targeting the locals and perhaps international visitors more than the typical WDW guest. Will be interesting to see how they fare down the road.

The music got louder the later it got, but we never saw anyone dancing. Although both times we were there, we were seated on the first (I believe it's the first ) floor. We were told by a bartender that sometimes people dance in the small open section in front of the bar.

We are from steak country, and have had all the ones mentioned above. DH favorite continues to be Mama Melrose, and DS loves Captain's Grill.

Another vote for Yachtsman Steakhouse, if it's a choice between one of the two in your post. We thought the filet at California Grill was the most amazing steak we've ever had.....well, at least at Disney!
For THE best steak on planet Earth, this is the spot!

Yachtsman is delicious and I'm looking forward to my dinner there in a couple of weeks! That said, Artist Point is another stellar choice; I've always experienced both exceptional food and service there.

Really surprised that CA Grill hasn't received more votes! I would definitely suggest either that or Jiko. Jiko's a little more exotic but delicious. CA Grill's atmosphere is fantastic and lively without feeling hectic.

I'll defer to your expertise as a resident of steak country:) but this is counter-intuitive to the notion of "When in a specialty restaurant (in this case Italian) order the specialty." Still, it'd be just like WDW to have the best example of a cuisine in a spot dedicated to something else entirely. I've heard great things about the steak at Flying Fish too, though not so much since the refurb. In any case, good tip kaybird, Thanks!
