Where to go for Parades

Where is a good place to watch the parade(s) at MK? Are the routes the same for the afternoon and Spectro parades?
Where do we stand at MGM?
Is the AK parade worth it for older kids, 9,11, 13? Where should we stand?

The parade at AK is my favorite. I think everyone young and old will like this one. We like to stand outside the Island Mercantile store right by the road leading to Camp Minnie Mickey. That way you can head down the road and catch the last FOLK or you can escape through Island Mercantile and miss the crowd trying to exit after the parade.

I would also like to know where a good spot to watch the parade in MK is ... they will only be holding Spectro one time while we are there - on a Saturday night - YIKES !! How long before should we stake out our seats ?

For MK, I like Liberty Square area, outside of Liberty Tree Tavern, by the pillory. If you are early, you can get up on the pillory platform for an even better view.

In MGM, I like to sit on the low wall, right in front of the Hall of Fame, near Sounds Dangerous.

And for AK, by the FastPass area of ITTBAB.

I work parade control for mainstreet at the Magic Kingdom so I thought I'd just give my P.O! I think that Mainstreet is the best place to watch the parades because it's more relaxed, especially right at the top of mainstreet so that you can see the parade and the castle. If you can see the castle then you'll be able to see the fireworks (Which is true anywhere in the park) Mainstreet is always the first place to fill up during a parade and we begin setting up for the parades 2 hours before it starts and that's when a lot of people start sitting down for the parades. I suggest getting there maybe an hour to 90 minutes early getting something to eat at one of the restaurants and eating at the curb. It passes time and gives you a chance to relax before the parade begins. If you sit down before they set up for the parade you run the risk of getting a really ood seat only to be told you have to move because it's an emergency exit or something.
